[00:00:16] I'm speaking today on the subject, the power of words, on a particular theme of words that bring victory. I want to help you overcome what the Bible says in Hosea 14, 2, Take with your words and turn to the Lord.
[00:00:35] The Bible has so much to say about the awesome power of words. Take with you words and turn to the Lord is the command here. And that's what we want to act upon today. I was in Seattle, Washington, conducting meetings at Bethel Temple. And I was in my family life back at home. We'd had some real financial struggles.
[00:00:59] And I've always said, it's no sin to be poor. It's just mighty inconvenient. And we were going through one of those testing times years ago. And I walked by a drug store there in Seattle. And there was a large placard in the window that said, this is National Vitamin Week. Well, I'd never heard of a National Vitamin Week. So I stopped and read with interest. I've always believed in natural vitamins.
[00:01:25] And it had the whole list from the alphabet on one side, all the letters, the alphabet that would cover different vitamins. And on the right side was the benefit of those vitamins. And that was very interesting to me as I studied it. And as I went back to my room, I thought, Lord, I believe in your book, the Bible, you have a spiritual vitamin program that will enable me to overcome,
[00:01:51] even as those vitamins in the natural help people. So I went to my word of God and I began to explore scriptures. And I developed what I call spiritual vitamins, 26 spiritual vitamins that are all God's word. I just want to share with you quickly. And then I'll enlarge upon them and give you more information what happened to me. If you feel defeated, take vitamin A.
[00:02:19] If you feel defeated, take vitamin A. Always God causes us to triumph through Christ Jesus our Lord. 2 Corinthians 2.14 If you feel discouraged, take vitamin B. Blessed with all spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 1.3 If you feel troubled, take vitamin C. Casting all your cares upon him for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5.7
[00:02:47] If you feel downcast, take vitamin D. Delight yourself in the Lord and he'll give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37.4 If you feel anxious, take vitamin E. Everything by prayer, let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4.6 If you are remembering past failures, take vitamin F. Forgetting those things which are behind. Philippians 3.13
[00:03:15] If you are despondent, take vitamin G. Giving thanks always for all things unto God. Ephesians 5.20 If your faith is wavering, take vitamin H. Hold fast to your confession of faith without wavering. For he who is promised is faithful. Hebrews 10.23 If you feel incapable, take vitamin I. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
[00:03:45] Philippians 4.13 If you are feeling weak, well take vitamin J. Joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8.10 If you feel yourself slipping, take vitamin K. Kept by the power of God. 1 Peter 1.5 If you have a bad temper, well take vitamin L. Love is not easily provoked. 1 Corinthians 13.5
[00:04:13] If you feel gloomy, well take vitamin M. My mouth should show forth your praise. Psalm 51.15 If you are feeling unsure, take vitamin N. Name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous runneth into it and is safe. Proverbs 18.10 And if you are being bothered by Satan, well take vitamin O. Overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb.
[00:04:41] And the word of your testimony, Revelation 12.11 If you have tongue trouble, take vitamin P. Praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34.1 If you are feeling disturbed, well take vitamin Q. Quietness shall be your strength. Isaiah 30.15 If your circumstances are bad, well take vitamin R. Rejoice in the Lord always. And again, I say rejoice.
[00:05:10] Philippians 4.4 If you are doubting the word, well take vitamin S. Scriptures cannot be broken. Said Jesus in John 10.35 If you are bored with life, well take vitamin T. Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. 2 Corinthians 9.15 If you are down in the dumps, well listen, take vitamin U. Upheld by the right hand of God.
[00:05:39] Isaiah 41.10 If there are hindrances in the way, take vitamin V. Violence shall take it by force. Matthew 11.12 If you are faint-hearted, well take vitamin W. Word was in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones. Jeremiah 20.9 If you feel hesitant, well take vitamin X. Wax bowl. Acts 13.46
[00:06:07] If you are struggling in your Christian life, well take vitamin Y. Yield yourselves unto God. Romans 6.13 And if you are lazy and lucky, initiative will take vitamin Z. Zealous of good works. Titus 2.14 You see, God declares it. Attend to my words, incline thine ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes. Keep them in the midst of thine heart.
[00:06:35] For they are life unto those that find them, and health through all their flesh. Well, there are 26 spiritual vitamins in God's word for you I've shared today. Back to my story down in Seattle. When I had written out this 26 alphabet spiritual vitamins, I began to speak them to my circumstances, to my financial lack, to the health problems for my children,
[00:07:03] for every other factor that I had to cope with in life. And day by day I began to assume a spiritual victory that was very foreign almost to my nature. And the word of God was having its full effect. So that's why I want to emphasize to you, beloved, that you can speak words that will bring victory for you. Just as it did for me back there years ago. And I have through the years continued to make this as one of my affirmations.
[00:07:32] Spiritual vitamins I take by the grace of God, and they do so very much benefit for me. Now, notice this first one is, If you feel defeated, take vitamin A. Always, always, God causes us to triumph through Christ Jesus our Lord. 2 Corinthians 2, 14. Now, these are words that will bring victory.
[00:07:58] They speak it that God always causes me to triumph through Christ Jesus our Lord. That's his wonderful word. And you can speak this victory for you, regardless of what your circumstances are. And if you are one that is feeling discouraged. All the spirit of discouragement is one of the most radical workings of the adversary against our lives. To feel discouraged and depressed and downcast.
[00:08:25] But I want to help you to know there is an answer. Are you listening? Ephesians 1, 3 is the answer. Blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Thank God we can say it. I am blessed. I walk like I'm blessed. I talk like I'm blessed. I think like I'm blessed because God declares it. I am blessed with all spiritual blessings.
[00:08:51] Now, those are words I say that bring victory to. Overcoming discouragement. What an awesome force it is to be discouraged. But God can give you an absolute victory. So be sure to speak his word. Blessed with all spiritual blessing. Yes, that's what God says about you. And for you that are in trouble. Trouble about finances. About health problems. About marriage issues.
[00:09:19] If you're troubled about your job difficulties. Whatever the occasion of being trouble. Troubles come in all kinds of sizes. Well, here's the answer for you and for me. Take vitamin C casting all your cares upon him who cares for you. So I want to help you to act upon these principles. Father, we simply take these spiritual vitamins. To overcome, Lord, defeat. Discouragement.
[00:09:50] The casting down all these cares upon our lives. In Jesus name. I thank you, Lord, for setting free. Hallelujah. You know, I want to give God praise. One of the most unusual letters I've had on the broadcast this year. Father, I've been from a man, an evangelist down in the West Indies. His name is Albert. I've had frequent contact with him through the years as he's a listener to my daily broadcast.
[00:10:18] And a quotation of scripture that he gave to me about how he overcame is Matthew 10 36. And a man's foes shall be of his own household. Now, this man, Albert wrote me, Brother Gossett. After I studied your books, I reached out in faith to God. I had been suffering with bronchitis for five years. And the Lord healed me. Glory to God.
[00:10:46] And now the devil is attacking me very seriously because of my bold faith in God. But in every attack, God keeps giving encouragement that when the devil comes, I can overcome him by the word of God. Your teaching on how to apply the blood of Jesus has literally saved my life. You see, I live in a family of unsaved people who are very hostile toward the gospel. And let me tell you what happened, Brother Gossett.
[00:11:16] On March the 7th, my mother, my brother and my sister stepped in my house to kill my wife and me, knowing this was the only way to destroy our bold faith in God. And among those three people were on me. God gave me much strength. They had weapons with which to strike off my head. They were using a cutlass, which is a large knife-like instrument used here in the sugar cane fields.
[00:11:43] The wounds they wanted to put on me fell upon two of them while wrestling with me. And they are now in the hands of the government. Brother Gossett, please don't be afraid what I've told you about my family, whom the devil is using, but my wife and me are protected by the blood of Jesus. And if it should ever require that I lay down my life for Christ Jesus to prove to the unsaved world the grace of God, I will count this great gain in the world to come.
[00:12:11] In every meeting I conduct, dozens of souls are being saved. Now I am waiting for instructions from you about baptizing them in water." Well, what a good testimony. And I was touched by the fact of this scripture. One of the most unusual words of Jesus, Matthew 10, 36.
[00:12:36] Now I know there are those of you hearing me that are being opposed by your own household. You're not being threatened with a cutlass to cut off your neck, but it's a real severe condition to be opposed by your loved ones. Heavenly Father, I agree with my brothers and sisters who in their own household, they're being attacked by their loved ones. I pray for release from them. In Jesus' name. Amen. Let's praise God for victory today.
