[00:00:00] What an exciting sharing of the Word of God I have to give you today, and that's on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I have praised God for the fact that when I was just 19 years old, I was teamed up with William Freeman. He invited me to join him, to be the editor of his magazine, to be his associate in Great Crusades. When I say great, I don't mean to exaggerate anything. They were attended by thousands of people.

[00:00:27] I can well remember the first time I went with him to the city of Chicago. The Colosseum was jam-packed with thousands of people. And there were more people standing on the outside on Wabash Avenue who couldn't get in because there were no seats. And that meant why was people coming? Because they were receiving mighty deliverances, miracles. The gifts of the Spirit were an operation in his life.

[00:00:53] And I've already shared with you about the gift of discerning of spirits, how this was operated in Freeman's life in just a way that I've never witnessed, frankly, anywhere, any time since. And I thank God for the experience I had of being an associate with this man for those five blessed years. And now I want to continue. We've been dealing about the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge,

[00:01:19] that discerning of spirits. And I emphasized about the gifts of healing that was manifest through William Freeman. And now I want you to understand that these gifts of the Spirit are not for super saints. They're not something you have if you are a certain degree of exception. No, it's simply a truth of God that we covet earnestly these gifts. We desire these gifts of the Holy Spirit. And that's what I want to emphasize.

[00:01:47] Now, as we come down in the listing in King James, the word of wisdom is first, the word of knowledge, then discerning of spirits, and then comes the gifts of healing. And after that is the working of miracles. Now, 1 Corinthians 12 says, So one is given through the Holy Spirit, the working of miracles. This working of miracles, of course, is God's business. Jesus, our Lord, worked many miracles.

[00:02:16] He turned the water into wine. He fed a multitude with the boys' little lunch. So there were baskets full of food left over. There are many kinds of miracles that were manifest through Jesus. And thank God they continue to have the miracle provision. The Holy Spirit is still manifesting in this gift of the working of miracles. And that often means miracles of provision, supply of our needs, miracles of healing,

[00:02:45] miracles of deliverance, just to name a few. Now, of course, it began when working with William Freeman. I began to see many miracles, many miracles over those five years. And then when I launched out in my own ministry, I coveted so much to have that ability of God to help suffering people. It was by compassion that I went to a prayer room one day. And I dropped on my knees and I stayed there for hours,

[00:03:15] beseeching God to manifest gifts of the Holy Spirit through my life. And nothing seemed to happen. There was no witness of any response from God. So I was rather disappointed as I got up and sat on that altar of their prayer. And I began to read Philippians chapter 2, verses 9 through 11. 1. 2. 7. 8. 8.

[00:03:49] 11. 11. 11. 12. 12. 12. 12. 12. 13. 13. 15. 15.

[00:04:19] 17. 17. 19. Act, ss. 18. for those more than 20 different visitations to that land where God sent me to the people everywhere, north, south, all over India. And it was an event I'll never forget.

[00:04:49] It seemed that God was pleased to manifest the miracles of the Holy Spirit in behalf of those desperate people. And I would simply yield my heart to be an instrument in God's hand. And the results were wonderful. Praise God. And so God wants you to know that you can have miracles in your life. You can see miracles such as physical healings and deliverances and long-time bondages.

[00:05:16] Be fearless in speaking the name of Jesus. Be fearless in yielding to the blessed Holy Spirit who is the administrator of these gifts. And I say I praise God that in my own ministry of Bold Bible Missions we've experienced miracles of supply. Here for these radio broadcasts for these scores of years. How God has provided. And for our ministry so supernaturally to know that God himself has intervened in situations

[00:05:45] and been our provider for what we needed. And my beloved friend, this is one of the working miracles of God's Holy Spirit. Miracles are things that cannot be explained. Things that do not even occur through ordinary means. We all can and should believe God for miracles in our lives. Don't be satisfied to live an ordinary life when the gifts of miracles are available. Ask God. Expect God to work miracles in your life and the lives of other people to whom you minister.

[00:06:14] You see, the same God who parted the Red Sea wants to help you today. And the same God who worked through my beloved friend William Freeman and T.L. Osborne, these men whom God joined me with to be partners and be co-workers. They were used by God, but simply because God chose to manifest his grace and power. And the good news is that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

[00:06:43] I'm glad that these gifts are available to us today. And among those gifts is what's called the gift of faith. Now, we all know how important faith is. We know without faith it's impossible to please God. And we want this working of the Holy Spirit, this manifest gift, is called a gift of faith. And I want you to hear this, please. This is said in 1 Corinthians 12, 9, to another faith by the same Holy Spirit is given.

[00:07:13] And this is wonder-working faith. Now, I believe that God chooses to manifest this gift through us in different ways. And God gives this gift of faith for special occasions. I know in some of our dangerous missionary journeys, we've had some challenging situations. And with this gift of faith operating in our lives, we've been able to believe God for anything that needs to be done and see the impossible.

[00:07:41] And thank God you can have total faith for evil or simple things. You may not be on the mission field for sure, but in your own personal life, this gift of faith can operate through you. And you'll not be daunted or terrified of anything. So when you are yielded to the Holy Spirit with the gift of faith, you must be careful not to think that others don't have the kind of faith you have and they're faithless. No, don't judge anybody, but that's standard. For the gift of faith is a gift.

[00:08:11] You're operating as an individual. God is giving that unusual portion of faith to ensure that His purpose is accomplished. And thank God He can use you to bring courage and comfort to others as you remain humble and thankful what God's given you. Romans 12, 3 says that grace, God's unmerited favor, is given to every man. And He says, I warn you not to estimate and think of yourself more highly than you ought to think,

[00:08:40] but to think soberly as God has given you this gifting of the Spirit, the degree of faith. So God will always give the gift of faith when needed to face whatever we have to face. However, the gift of faith makes you unusually bold. Anyone who operates in this gift must be sensitive to realize that this boldness is a gift from God and always give thanks to Him for that.

[00:09:05] Yes, I praise God for a lifetime of yielding to the Holy Spirit and for Him to minister through the gift of faith for unusual events, miracles of grace, miracles of healing. And so this is another of the gifts of the Spirit. And already we've had occasion to bring the next gift that's in the line of the scriptures here about spiritual gifts. And that is about the gift of tongues.

[00:09:35] That's the next in this list. It says, To one is given various kinds of unknown tongues. I praise God that by His grace I receive this gift. And I say with Paul, I thank God I speak in tongues more than they all. That's what Paul said. And so I thank God for this gift. I speak in tongues not because I'm some spiritual giant, but because I need the strength, the spiritual ability that God gives.

[00:10:03] And this is what this gift of tongues does. Why should anyone want to close their mind and heart and be biased and prejudiced against such a wonderful gift? 1 Corinthians 14, 2. He that speaketh in unknown tongues speaketh not unto men, but unto God. Howbeit in the Spirit he speaketh mysteries unto God. 1 Corinthians 14, 4. He that speaketh in unknown tongues edifieth himself. My, what a supernatural enabling.

[00:10:33] To edify means to build up, to strengthen. And this is a gift that I think every one of you should covet and desire. The gift of speaking in unknown tongues. The scripture tells us in the book of 1 Corinthians, in the chapter of 1 Corinthians 14, I counted 18 different places, 18 scriptures, I should say, where the mention of the gift of tongues is referred to. It's an awesome gift. It's very important.

[00:11:02] And for people to try to say, well, the day of speaking in tongues is past. There's nothing scripturally to base that on. It's simply bias and prejudice. And I'm so grateful that I can say with Paul, I speak in tongues. I'm glad that I did not let the attitude of the scholarship that I had endeavored to pursue, when they would say no speaking in tongues. And yet the Bible says, forbid not the speaking in tongues.

[00:11:31] That's one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, to be cherished and be appreciated. So we're talking about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, supernatural realm of walking in the Holy Spirit. And through these many years, I praise God for all the understanding he's given me and the times when this gift of the Holy Spirit has been so precious and operative. Father, I pray for every listening friend,

[00:11:58] that their hearts will be open to the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, that the gifts of the Spirit can be a vital part of their lives in Jesus' name. My beloved friend, we've talked a lot about gifts, but the most essential gift of all is the gift of God, which is eternal life. If you don't have eternal life, you can do that by receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. And that can happen even right now.

[00:12:26] I hope you'll take that opportunity to receive Christ. And now friend, join me as we say, praise the Lord. Let's say it ten joyful times. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen.

[00:12:57] Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Praise you, Lord. Amen. Hallelujah.
