[00:00:00] Today Don Gossett's message is based on Mark 11 23, Say To The Mountain. Now we don't pray to mountains of sickness, fear, financial lack. Rather Jesus taught us to talk to the mountain. We'll have a special resource to help you do so at the end of today's program. But right now, here's Don Gossett with Say To The Mountain.
[00:00:20] Thank you, Mike O'Dell. And I want to share with you a beautiful scripture, Romans 8 28. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. I'm sharing with you about the wonderful faith truth of speaking to mountains. Mark 11 23, Whosoever shall say to this mountain, Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart,
[00:00:48] but shall believe that those things which he sayeth shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he sayeth. So this is a vital truth that I hope you'll embrace. Now I'm grateful that when God gave me the revelation, it was primarily through the writings of Dr. E. W. Kenyon. And then when I met T.L. Osborne, and I said to him as we had just fellowship time in his office,
[00:01:13] I said, I see by your writings you've been influenced by Dr. Kenyon. Oh yes, his books have been my Bible school, he said. I've carried those Kenyon books with me all over the world. And whenever I meet a hungry-hearted pastor or missionary, I give them a copy of a Kenyon book. Well, it's a beautiful story how God used the books to touch T.L. Osborne and change his life and minister through him.
[00:01:40] Well, I appreciated my fellowship with him, and we were partners together. And then I have this friend Charles Capps. He's written many fine books on the subject, and others have done so. But recently, I've come into contact with the writings of Joel Osteen. Now, I've never met Joel, nor ever heard him in public, but his parents, John and Dodie Osteen, dear friends of mine,
[00:02:05] with whom I've teamed up for ministry. I acknowledge I've been blessed by Joel's writings, and I'm sharing something from his writings today about, Say to the Mountain. God wants you and me to be mountain movers and to declare his word. And this is very essential. So, as we come to this subject again today, I know God is working all things for your good. He has this master plan for your life. There may be things you don't understand right now.
[00:02:35] But don't be worried. You know that God is the one who is providing every situation. Now, I know that many of you to whom I speak today, you're dealing with disappointments, and challenges don't seem to make sense. It's easy to grow discouraged and think, Why did this happen to me? Why did my loved one not make it? Why did this person treat me wrong? Why did I get laid off from my job?
[00:03:02] I want you to understand that even though life is not always fair, God is fair. And that's what he promises in Romans 8, 28, that all things work together for our good. Notice it's all things work together. You cannot isolate this challenge and say, Well, my whole life is ruined. No. God still has you in his hand. And your disappointment may not end quickly. Your life doesn't stop because of a single setback.
[00:03:31] The challenge you're facing is simply one piece of the puzzle. If there aren't other pieces coming, it'll connect it all. It'll work together for your good. Now, I know that bitterness is one of the most prevalent spirits that we encounter all the time. And I know that you, to whom I speak today, may be bitter because of how negative circumstances have ruled your life. Well, God has promised a great plan for you. He's predestined you to live in victory.
[00:04:01] And when events come in your life that seem to be so overwhelming, you don't have to simply figure them all out. You don't understand them, but hard times somehow just don't make sense for you. Well, God has more to come into your life in the way of truth and victory. You may feel like your life is missing something, whether it's in the area of your finances or your marriage. But all God has to do is add some of the truths to your life,
[00:04:30] and you'll feel whole and complete again. I want to help you to know that don't be impatient. It's not over until God says it's over. And if you'll keep pressing forward, one day you'll look back and see how it all played out. The master plan of God designed for your life. So you have to have a deep inner trust, a confidence on your heart that says, I know God is with me. God is for me. God is working in me.
[00:04:58] And yes, He's ordering your steps according to His Word. This is my encouragement to you. I know that there are other problems that vex your life today, but I hope you'll let God give you a vision whereby you can have your provision. I want to just share with you a vital truth that became real to my life, and I still embrace this truth because I know the benefits of it.
[00:05:25] Several years ago, the Dr. Anderson up in White Rock said to me, Don, you have an aneurysm. He said, Do you understand what an aneurysm is? I said, Well, not entirely. I said, My father was stricken with an aneurysm, and when it burst, he was dead within four hours. He said, Well, Don, there's nothing we can do to cure this aneurysm,
[00:05:54] so I just ask you that plan we'll have a CAT scan in about six weeks. Well, during that six weeks of waiting for that CAT scan, my dear wife Deborah and I every day affirmed the 26 verses that we call the alphabet of healing. And it was a faith-building experience. Day after day, we affirmed God's Word. We knew that God watches over His Word to perform it.
[00:06:22] And every day we would affirm, A, all things we know work together for good. We took A, B, C, read on down. A, attend to my words, incline thine ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes. Keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life to those that find them in health to all their flesh. And the letter B, Beloved Don, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
[00:06:51] And I say the same thing for you, beloved friends, that God loves you and He wants you to prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. And the letter C, Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. And D, Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live and keep your word. And the letter E, Evermore I will rejoice in you, Lord. And the letter F,
[00:07:21] Forget not all his benefits, who forgiveth all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. The letter G, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power, who went about doing good, healing all oppressed of the devil. And the letter H, Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses. The letter I, I am the Lord that healeth thee. That means you, thee, you and me. Praise God this truth.
[00:07:51] And God grants that. And now we have the wonderful truth of Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday, today, and forever. [00:08:18] of overcoming sickness and disease and infirmity, I recognize the number one spirit that I must deal with is helping people overcome fear. Fear of failure. Fear of an untimely death. Fear of a cancer. Fear of a heart attack. Fear of some calamity envisioning your life. You must overcome these fears. Job, the man who had massive fears, made this statement in Job 3.25,
[00:08:48] The thing which I greatly feared has come upon me, and that which I was afraid of has come unto me. So you speak God's word. He says in Isaiah 51.10, Fear not, I am with you. I will not be dismayed, he said, for I'll help you. I'll hold up your right hand. And he gave us assurance of freedom from tormenting fear. So I want to minister to you today. Heavenly Father,
[00:09:15] you said in your word to pray one for another that you may be healed. Father, I do pray for those who this day are victimized by fear, snared by fear, Lord, and I pray in Jesus' name that by the empowering of your Holy Spirit you'll touch their bodies and deliver them from the tormenting spirit of fear, I pray in the name of Jesus. Lord, let this be a special day for those who are now under the curse of poverty,
[00:09:45] who have abundance of financial woes. I speak in Jesus' name that this fear of poverty will be broken. These dear ones will be provided every need in Jesus' name. And Father, I do unite my faith in behalf of those who are sick in their bodies. Lord, you see them. They need you to be an abundant blesser. And may it be done in Jesus' name. Well, this is God's truth. And you know,
[00:10:14] when I first embraced this principle of how to speak to mountains, it was revolutionary in my own life. I began to learn to speak of mountains of financial lack for S. Michael as the supreme one. I had to be able to have thousands of dollars to pay for radio time every month, many thousands of dollars. And how did I learn the principle? I was speaking the mountain of lack, the mountain of financial failure. And praise God,
[00:10:43] I had a wonderful victory, and I praise the Lord for that. And may He grant that for you, you that are impoverished by lack and by failure financially. Let God be your provider. And now I come to just speak a word to you that are having marriage problems. Marriage problems are so prevalent today. And I want to encourage you to begin to speak in harmony with God's word.
[00:11:13] Don't talk about having a bad marriage. Don't talk about saying, I wonder if we're going to make it. Affirm the scriptures that give you assurance about how you can overcome. God's word is God's word. Man's word is man's word. And we praise the Lord for the victory that's ours in Jesus' name.
