[00:00:00] Welcome to Bold Bible Living with your radio teacher and friend, world evangelist Don Gossett. In this day of financial downturn, Don is sharing a scriptural message on keys to financial provisions. As a father of five children and a minister by radio into 89 nations, Don has experienced financial challenges. From the Bible, Don is sharing with you those principles God honors in providing for your needs.
[00:00:26] So now, let's join Don as he opens his heart with Keys to Financial Provisions. Thank you, Mike O'Dell. I want to answer the question, How did I learn to trust the Father for finances to provide for a family of seven? I mean, what were the keys that I acted upon that brought God's response? Well, the needs have at times been without a solution in the natural order.
[00:00:53] But what God taught me was to know how to trust Him by letting His Word have the main priority of my life. So I'm sharing with you, as it were, a faith secret that continues to minister not only to my life or my family, but more important to the needs for our mission of world evangelism to which the Lord has called us. Now, there were many years I've had the joy now of living this faith life.
[00:01:20] Living by faith is living by God's Word. And for the most part of the past years, I have not always had what they call a guaranteed salary. And there came a gem of truth to my heart years ago. And that was from Philippians 419. Here are the words of God that are so potent. My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
[00:01:49] And this has been especially precious to me. I shared with you, Hal, that I was in a time of financial challenge in a deep way. And my family and I were living in a little two-room unit in Victoria. And God visited my heart. He is the one responsible for the transformation of my financial situation. And this truth became so practical.
[00:02:17] I had given up whatever past conveniences I may have had while working in gospel ministry to launch forth into the ministry of bold Bible living that God led me to pioneer. And I simply had the opportunity to trust the Father for the supply of needs. Now, let me tell you an experience I had. I had once when a car payment was due and I had no money to pay it.
[00:02:47] Five days passed. Then a collector from the finance company was at my front door. He very quickly announced, I'm here to collect your car payment. And I said, I'm sorry, sir. I don't have the money right now. He said, well then, I have no choice but to take your car. Our policy is either to make the collection or else take the car. I protested.
[00:03:15] I said, oh, but sir, you can't let that happen. I need that car. I'm an evangelist and I need that car to travel from church to church where I minister. And I asked him for another question. I said, will you go back to your company and request they give me a five days extension for my payment? For I'm confident that within five days I'll have the money. The man was hesitant to honor my request.
[00:03:44] And he said, I'll go back and ask. He was very pessimistic in his approach on the subject. He said, but let me tell you right now, I'm almost certain they won't go along with that. And I'll be back within an hour or so, likely to repossess your car. Well, I can never forget the challenge that was to my heart. I had been nourishing my heart in Philippians 4.19 and God had been honoring it. So quickly I had to make a decision. I looked out the car in front of my house.
[00:04:13] Should I go out and clean out my personal contents? I answered my heart, no, I won't do that. So I made a decision without delay. Either I could panic, resign to failure and watch the car be repossessed or else I could turn my faith to God as I had already been doing and trust him with the whole heart. I say I've been nourishing my heart upon God's word.
[00:04:38] And the truth of Philippians 4.19 had come to my attention in many financial circumstances until that time. But my God shall supply all my need. I made my decision. I would practice what I've been preaching. I would dare to confess God's word aloud. I would not waver in my faith because the Bible says if you waver in your faith, let not that man think or receive anything from the Lord. And I would not yield to the evidence of my senses.
[00:05:07] You see, the senses, what you see, hear, feel or taste always war against the word of God. You see, I had heard the man say, we'll likely be back to repossess your car. I could feel deep anxiety about the urgent matter. And I was aware that soon I would see the car taken away from me. That's what the senses reveal. So I say the senses always war against the word of God.
[00:05:36] But God's word is above the evidence of the senses. His truth is superior to natural truth. So I would take my stand boldly again with God's word. I can never forget that incident though it's been many years, of course. I began to confess it over and over. My God shall supply all my need. My God shall supply all my need. My Father God shall supply all my need. I was not trying to manipulate God.
[00:06:03] I was simply speaking his word that he had given to us. And I was declaring what he had said. And as I kept on confessing the word with courage and daring, this scripture just began to ring out like a song from my heart. For I was fully agreeing with what God says. And very assuredly my confidence was rising. For the Bible says, Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. As my ears were hearing my lips speak God's word,
[00:06:33] that was face food. And in a short time I was shouting it. My God shall supply all my need. It suddenly burst forth into a song, I say, created within my own spirit. And over and over I affirmed that truth. Now it was not the song of desperation or unbelief. It was a song of sure joy that this was gloriously true. And I want to say praise the Lord. Praise him ten times or praise him a thousand times.
[00:07:03] God watches over his word to perform it. And as I continued to speak this scripture aloud, coupled with joyful praises, I could almost feel the money in my pocket. Now that was the word alone generating this kind of awareness. For there was no money absolutely there. It was just the faith position I was taking. And while I was yet confessing the word and praising the Lord and singing to him, a knock came to my front door. When I opened the door,
[00:07:32] there stood a man who had been sent out by a taxi driver to deliver me a message that a money order had been sent to me at the telegraph office and I would need to come down and sign for it in order to receive it. The taxi driver informed me that they would have called me on the phone, but I had no phone. So there he was sent out to deliver that message. I thanked the man for the message and assured him I'd be down to the telegraph office
[00:07:59] to claim the money wired to me from someone, from somewhere as soon as I could. And how exciting it was to watch God work, watching over his word. I continued my offering of praise to the Lord. I don't know how much money had come nor from whence it came, but I sure knew it was my father had provided it. Knowing it was of him, I was confident it was sufficient to meet my car payment. And just whom my heavenly father had moved upon to minister to this need, I say I didn't know.
[00:08:28] But in a short time, the gloomy collector came back from his office and he was not very pleasant about it. He let me know that he had come back with another man to take my car away. And when I heard that announcement, my wonderful God who had provided for a surprise or two for those men, I simply spoke very confidently to the man again.
[00:08:55] I said, hey man, I've got your money. I've got the money. And I said, I don't have it right in my hand, but I will have it in just a short time. And I said, sir, would you mind staying with my children while I go down to collect the money at the telegraph office? He looked at me. He said, well, that's a little unusual to babysit with children so you can get the money. But if you can get the money, then we'll do it.
[00:09:24] And he said, now if you can go get the money, yes, sir, just go on. Well, you know, when I arrived at the office, the telegram was there. My heavenly father had spoken to a man over 600 miles away to send me twice the amount of money that I needed for my car payment. And I learned that this person had been led to, first of all, send the money, which he thought he would send in the mail.
[00:09:51] But the Holy Spirit impressed him to wire it to me, rush it to me. Now, I think this is the only time that ever happened all my life. Anybody wired money to me, to meet a need. But this man obeyed the Holy Spirit and wired the money. And incidentally, the very time he was impressed to send, it was the same time I was speaking God's word that my God shall supply all my need. What a day of joy and victory.
[00:10:18] I say this happened years ago, but God had performed a miracle like this again and again through the years. For as we daily face staggering radio, publishing bills and many other bills to advance the gospel message committed to us, we constantly affirm this scripture, my God shall supply all our need. And how wonderful the Father has worked in our behalf. And I'm humbly grateful I can share this with you. So how can you expect God to meet your need?
[00:10:47] Well, begin to speak his word. And trust the Holy Spirit to lead and touch the hearts of wherever the need may be met. Not only has God supplied financial miracles almost every month of our lives, but he's also blessed abundantly in other ways. So take courage to consider this truth of God. God will minister to your every need, even his word assures you. And Romans 8 says,
[00:11:14] As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. So don't consult your senses. What you see, hear or feel can misdirect you from God's word. And know that God says he will supply all your needs. So don't give up the bold, fearless confession of God's word. Unwavering faith in the word and the author of it will produce victory. So I unite with you.
[00:11:40] My Father, I pray for every person who is confronted with unmet needs financially. I ask you, Lord, to undertake for them, even as your word says, You will supply all their needs according to your riches and glory by Christ Jesus. And I praise you, Lord, for granting this for each one in Jesus' name. So let's say it and say it often. My God shall supply all my need.
[00:12:07] Seven words that say it all. My God shall supply all your need. And now let's rejoice in this wonderful Savior, who saves us not only from sin and hell, but saves us from financial defeats and failure. Praise you, Lord.
[00:12:42] Hallelujah. Praise you, Lord. Praise you, Lord. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
