[00:00:00] Welcome to Bold Bible Living with Don Gossett and today's message, Giant Language. Let's join Don as he shares the scriptural truths of giant faith through giant language. I'm speaking about giant language to speak God's Word. The giant language is praise, the giant language is affirming the truth of the scriptures. I mean there are so many expressions. I share with you how that I came out of a very deep valley of financial lack and failure,

[00:00:30] of deep indebtedness that was very embarrassing, and the inconvenience of having to travel with my wife and five children myself, living basically out of a car out of suitcases for sure, and how God blessed and gave us grace. So the same God wants to minister through you. Now I was sharing with you

[00:00:52] about our excursion, I should say, to expect the invitation to go to Eastern Europe. I mean it was a real challenge and everything began to fit very well. Now Deborah and I had reservations on Amtrak to travel from Albany, New York to New York City. Because we were taking many hundreds and hundreds of my books

[00:01:17] books in pieces of luggage with our clothes and all those books. We had seven large suitcases. I mean, there were hundreds of books to give out. And we had seriously discussed what we would do. When we got to the Grand Central Station in New York City, it was imperative we go to the Ukraine embassy in the heart of

[00:01:40] New York City to apply for those visas to be able to go and preach in the Ukraine. We would ask what we will do with all these bags. Could we trust a taxi driver to keep them for us? While we were at the embassy, well, we were unsure what was going to happen. But then an amazing thing happened. As we were planning to go on this Amtrak journey, a dear friend Walt Stone came to see us and he said,

[00:02:07] uh, we, you can cancel your train reservations, Don, for I'm taking you down to New York City myself. I was overjoyed. I said, but we have a whole lot of luggage and how can you accommodate all us with all those luggage? He said, well, we're not going in a car. We're traveling in a limousine,

[00:02:30] very large limousine. Well, all this was coming so surprising. And the next morning at seven o'clock, a beautiful luxury white, uh, limousine pulled up before our hotel and with two friends and Rick, the limo driver, uh, we were all together going down, uh, to the big apple, they call it. And driving down through the Catskill Mountains was an exciting experience in that stretch limousine.

[00:03:00] It was one of those exceeding abundance of all we could ask or think how God provided. And when we got to the Ukraine embassy, we had to stand in line for about two hours and we presented our passport and application for visas. They refused us at that moment. And the embassy official informed us we must have a letter of invitation from the Ukraine, plus a government

[00:03:27] document from the Ukraine in order to secure a visa. However, while it seemed impossible then that we were not going to be able to go and thank God the Lord gave favor and I can account for all how it happened. But the remarkable thing was that we got the visas and off we were going. Our flight to Frankfurt, Germany and to Bucharest, Romania were without incident. We surely know we were a part of

[00:03:56] destiny to go to Eastern Europe by the spirit alone leading us, nothing doubting. And we praise God that we got there and the Lord was so gracious to provide. Johnny Bouya, our host, there in Bucharest, he took us to a third-class hotel that was costly, $77 a night, US. And we protested this exorbitant amount of money for a

[00:04:24] low-class hotel. So Johnny then said, we have an evangelist friend who has an apartment and you could stay with him. There'd be no charge, but I suggest you try to give him $20 a night. And thank God that proved to be so much nicer than that hotel. And thank God we got to bed after 36 hours of constant travel.

[00:04:48] That's one of the perils of going to the nations. So then we had this evangelism conference, the first one of several across Eastern Europe and delegates. They were mostly evangelists from Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine. They were there at this conference that we ministered. And God gave great blessing grace. And in one of the first meetings, my wife, Deborah, was asked to

[00:05:18] greet the conference. And with a spirit of prophetic utterance upon her, she said, I know you've had many conferences in past years, but this is going to be one like you've never had. The Lord Jesus is going to touch you and you'll never be the same. Well, when the conference was over, the chairman declared how God spoke to Deborah about this being the greatest conference that ever had. And they said,

[00:05:45] surely it is. And they invited us to return back another year. And well, praise God, we then saw the opportunity to influence and impact these committed evangelists. They were so cooperative in every sense of the word and how the Lord gave us favor. Now, the years of communist oppression had left that

[00:06:10] city of Romania in a very deprived type of condition. And only one out of eight families had a car. Everyone else walked or else rode a bicycle. And we stayed there in that experience. We had then later as we went into the other parts of Romania, it was such a delightful experience to know we were

[00:06:35] there in the land of the legendary Lord Dracula. I mean, if you've ever been to Transylvania, that's the home of the legendary Lord Dracula. And there we were. And we went from city to city ministering. And thank God, it was such a challenge, a beautiful event. Now, as I had mentioned earlier, they had told me I would be speaking at a baptismal service in each city we went to. And it was such an

[00:07:05] unusual experience. I remember that first time in Ilva Mica, we were there for this baptismal service. It was right next to the train tracks. And when the train passed by, the passengers were all fascinated by seeing hundreds of people standing on the riverbanks sincerely singing hymns of worship in the Romanian language. Well, it was a great witness to everybody. And thank God we were blessed

[00:07:34] so to be used by God to fulfill the scripture, to go and baptize in the name of the Lord. And we praise God for how he ministered. Well, I can share with you so many more details about how God gave us a mighty working. And then when one morning we were ready to leave Ilva Mica, our host Johnny Bouya said, the secret police are following us. And I asked, are they like the old KGB? Johnny said, yes,

[00:08:04] they're the same former KGB men. They've only changed their uniforms. Well, it was quite an experience to be followed all the way across Eastern Europe by these agents of the government. And we had nothing to hide. We simply were there to do the Lord's will. And what an unusual experience it was, I say,

[00:08:28] to be followed by the secret police. And well, God gave grace and favor. And through Romania, we had all these experiences. And then we got to Moldova, the next country. It had to be one of the most grueling border experiences we ever had. We simply sat there for hours and hours. No other

[00:08:53] business was being done by anybody. But the Moldova officials scrutinized us from head to toe. They held our car from us for hours for inspection. And the hours of night became very late. Finally, we got through with the intense interrogation. And we were informed we will be able to get our visas to go into Moldova right there that was available 24 hours a day. When we entered the darkened office of

[00:09:23] the visa company, we rang a service bell. And the consulate belled it out to us, go away, come back in the morning. Well, rarely have I permitted frustration overtake me entering 56 nations to preach the gospel. But having been up most of the night, I was not satisfied with his directive. I vigorously protested it.

[00:09:46] I said, Sir, we've been here for many hours. We must have our visas now. Well, the consulate awakened and at my word of command is where he issued the visas. And we ministered in Moldova. And we had great blessing in every activity. And then we went to the radio station of the Little Samaritan Network.

[00:10:15] And it was a broadcast that we ministered on 16 stations over those Baltic states. And God gave us grace and favor. We went through hardships and difficulties. The living accommodations were often very inadequate. But we didn't complain. We trusted God. And by his grace, through our various

[00:10:40] outreach, outreaches, more than 100,000 people were touched through our books and through our being in meetings where we ministered. And thank God. Then I'll tell you about the Ukraine border and for hours of interrogation and paying excessive taxes of all kinds. And they held us, as it were, in their

[00:11:03] presence for hours demanding all kinds of things. Well, in the Ukraine, God gave a wonderful victory in the fact we're invited to stay in a pastor's home. He had seven adorable children. And he raised tomatoes as a market item. And we had tomato heaven for three times every day. We all were there.

[00:11:29] And this pastor had seven children. They were all studying France at school. And we could not understand their Ukrainian language. But Deborah, having been a university graduate in French and a high school teacher in French back in Victoria, the children spoke in French to her. And then they would interpret to their parents in Ukraine. And it was such a unique experience. And how they

[00:11:58] worked out very well. And Deborah's French was well interpreted by all those students. And thank God. Well, I'm sharing with you reality of how we have thanked God for giving us the opportunity to be used by him. And the Lord said long ago, so will I save you and you should be a blessing.

[00:12:20] Listen to me, friend. You are saved that you might be a blessing. And I would invite you to be a blessing to minister to us at Bold Bible Missions. We will ask you to be used by God. And we will look forward to hearing from you. Now, my beloved friend, I want to invite you to take a time to take maybe 20 or 30 seconds.

[00:12:46] And let's really, from our hearts, offer praise to our King. We praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you,

[00:12:55] Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Praise you, Lord. Amen. Hallelujah. Please send your prayer requests, praise reports, and your gift in support of this ministry
