[00:00:00] I'm in a crusade to help you overcome the sin of ingratitude. Ingratitude is one of our enemy's most lethal weapons. The Bible says God inhabits the praises of his people. Listen to Psalm 22 3.

[00:00:17] Thou art holy, O thou who inhabits the praises of your people. And if we want to go where God is, we need to go to his address, which is Psalm 22 3.

[00:00:28] Now there are two kinds of Christians, grateful and ungrateful. Grateful people praise the Lord. Ungrateful people resist the Holy Spirit who promotes a genuine life of praise and adoration of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[00:00:44] There are whiners and worshipers. Grateful people, however, speak grateful words. A famous pastor, Henry Ward Beecher, wrote these words.

[00:00:54] A proud man is seldom a grateful man, for he never thinks he'd get as much as he deserves. So my beloved friend, there's a high cost for grumbling. If you have a pattern of complaining, it probably won't disappear in a day.

[00:01:10] But it's either grumbling or gratitude. And when we consider what Christ has done, our lives should overflow with praise.

[00:01:19] A pastor from India visited America. He was asking his opinion of Americans. He responded,

[00:01:26] Americans have no idea how much they have, but they always complain.

[00:01:31] Well, I hope you and I are not a part of the complaining, grumbling people.

[00:01:36] And if you can't be thankful of what you receive, we'll be thankful of what you've escaped.

[00:01:41] By the mercies of God, we escape many things that could be negative and destructive.

[00:01:46] So something else about the benefit of praise.

[00:01:49] It breeds joy. Praise absolutely changes things.

[00:01:53] You see, we have more blessings than problems.

[00:01:58] One brother I know always answers,

[00:02:00] How are you doing, brother?

[00:02:01] You're always saying I'm better than I deserve.

[00:02:04] Well, I can say amen to that.

[00:02:07] We all receive better than we deserve.

[00:02:10] So my beloved friend, be a radical praiser.

[00:02:13] Like Paul and Silas were.

[00:02:15] Like the cleansed leper that came back to Jesus.

[00:02:18] Like Jehoshaphat's army of praisers.

[00:02:20] It was my, how they fulfilled God's purpose for them.

[00:02:25] It was my friend Derek Prince, a man whom I greatly loved and admired.

[00:02:30] He wrote these words.

[00:02:32] Praise is God's address.

[00:02:35] It's where he lives.

[00:02:37] So if you want to be where God lives, you have to offer him praise.

[00:02:41] That's words, I think, very fulfilled here again in Psalm 22, 3.

[00:02:47] Lord, you're holy, you who inhabit the praise of your people.

[00:02:52] And then we are commanded in Psalm chapter 100.

[00:02:56] Enter into his gate with thanksgiving and to his courts with praise.

[00:03:00] Be thankful unto him and bless his name forever.

[00:03:03] When you are actively praising the Lord,

[00:03:06] you may have experienced how easy it is to sense God's presence.

[00:03:10] I've received a large number of reports from people

[00:03:13] who have been miraculously healed while they praised the Lord.

[00:03:18] There's such awesome power in praising Jesus.

[00:03:21] Because God's Spirit dwells within you and me,

[00:03:24] you can praise the Lord anytime, anyplace,

[00:03:27] and he'll inhabit your praises.

[00:03:30] Now, the word makes it clear that sincere praisers always get the Lord's attention.

[00:03:35] Grumbling and complaining will get you nowhere but self-pity.

[00:03:40] Only praisers march into the courts of God

[00:03:43] and come into his presence through these gates of praise.

[00:03:46] I often sing a delightful little chorus that goes like this.

[00:03:51] Wherever I am, I'll praise him.

[00:03:54] Whenever I can, I'll praise him.

[00:03:57] For his love surrounds me like a sea.

[00:03:59] I'll praise the name of Jesus.

[00:04:02] Lift up the name of Jesus.

[00:04:04] For the name of Jesus lifted me.

[00:04:07] I will sing this chorus in my whole heart.

[00:04:10] And I can say God always shows up.

[00:04:12] Now, the way we get God to show up, as it were,

[00:04:15] is to praise his name.

[00:04:18] Isaiah chapter 61 informs us the Lord gives us beauty for ashes,

[00:04:24] the oil of joyful mourning,

[00:04:25] the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.

[00:04:28] The spirit of heaviness is part of the devil's arsenal.

[00:04:31] And if you're battling depression or mental problems today,

[00:04:36] you're not fighting against flesh and blood.

[00:04:38] You're wrestling against spiritual wickedness.

[00:04:41] God has given us a great way to win the battle.

[00:04:45] Just put on the garment of praise.

[00:04:47] Begin by praising God for saving your soul.

[00:04:51] Praise him for what he's already done in your life.

[00:04:53] Praise him for his goodness.

[00:04:55] And for what you anticipate he's going to do in your life.

[00:04:58] I say continue to praise him

[00:05:00] until the spirit of heaviness flees from you.

[00:05:04] Now, it may be hard to praise God

[00:05:06] when all you want to do is cry.

[00:05:08] At times, it's a real sacrifice of praise you must offer.

[00:05:12] Hebrews 13, 15,

[00:05:14] one of the most significant verses in the Bible

[00:05:16] about the life of praise.

[00:05:18] Listen to these words.

[00:05:20] By Jesus, therefore,

[00:05:22] let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually.

[00:05:26] That is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

[00:05:30] So my challenge to you,

[00:05:33] put on the garment of praise.

[00:05:35] The garment of praise Jesus gives us

[00:05:37] to overcome the spirit of heaviness.

[00:05:40] Now, there is a great spirit of heaviness in the earth today.

[00:05:44] And we must not be ignorant of the devil's devices

[00:05:47] to fill us with this spirit of heaviness.

[00:05:49] Of course, you can talk yourself

[00:05:51] into a full-blown state of depression.

[00:05:54] However, speaking words of life,

[00:05:57] God's word,

[00:05:57] and singing praises to him

[00:05:59] will put depression on the run.

[00:06:02] Did you hear what I said?

[00:06:10] The enemy can't stay in the presence of God

[00:06:14] when you speak God's word

[00:06:15] and you sing praises to the Lord.

[00:06:18] So I want to give you this challenge.

[00:06:21] Let God come on to the scene in your life.

[00:06:24] And I say depression has no choice but to leave.

[00:06:28] So put on the garment of praise.

[00:06:30] It's the antidote for the spirit of heaviness.

[00:06:33] You get dressed every day.

[00:06:35] Well, put on the garment of praise

[00:06:36] as one of your preparation for a day.

[00:06:39] Thank God for the love and mercy of God.

[00:06:42] Now, as I'm sharing with you these days,

[00:06:45] I've been introducing you to the fact of my

[00:06:48] sincere tributes to the man of God,

[00:06:51] Dr. E.W. Kenyon.

[00:06:53] I have so much admired what this man left.

[00:06:57] The fact that for over 60 some years,

[00:06:59] he's been in heaven.

[00:07:01] And yet his ministry goes on full blast

[00:07:04] all over the world.

[00:07:05] I mean, it's a wonderful ministry.

[00:07:07] And I have frequent contact with his staff

[00:07:10] down in Linwood, Washington.

[00:07:12] And they tell me about the victories,

[00:07:15] about the outreaches God's given.

[00:07:17] So that's why I would like to encourage you.

[00:07:20] Now, when I talked about these books,

[00:07:24] I hope you'll take advantage of the invitation

[00:07:27] to accept the books that have been co-authored

[00:07:29] by Dr. Kenyon and myself.

[00:07:31] I know they'll be a blessing to you.

[00:07:33] And you'll discover a real uplift

[00:07:36] as you let God's truth prevail.

[00:07:39] And so for that reason,

[00:07:41] I just want to encourage you today

[00:07:43] to make it your purpose

[00:07:45] to let God's word prevail in your life,

[00:07:48] regardless of what your situation is.

[00:07:51] And, you know, Dr. Kenyon and I,

[00:07:54] the first book that I put together with him,

[00:07:57] his daughter Ruth gave me the permission,

[00:08:00] was the book, The Power of Your Words.

[00:08:02] And as we joined together

[00:08:04] in this national bestseller,

[00:08:07] it's been an amazing kingdom secret

[00:08:09] that you and I can have

[00:08:11] everything God says we can have.

[00:08:14] Now, if you tend to be your own worst enemy,

[00:08:17] fail to accomplish what you say you'll do,

[00:08:19] or lack any good thing,

[00:08:21] then this book will show you

[00:08:22] how to live in the positive.

[00:08:24] It'll strengthen your faith

[00:08:26] and possess what you confess.

[00:08:28] Your life can be radically different

[00:08:30] when you learn this truth

[00:08:33] about the power of your words.

[00:08:35] I've received so many glorious testimonies

[00:08:38] from people who have read this book

[00:08:40] and how it's changed their life,

[00:08:42] and I praise God for that.

[00:08:43] And then the other truths

[00:08:46] that God's led Dr. Kenyon and I

[00:08:49] to team together to share,

[00:08:51] how it's been an outreach

[00:08:53] that I'm grateful for that.

[00:08:55] And, you know,

[00:08:57] I just want to say it again.

[00:08:59] When I've been talking to you

[00:09:01] about Dr. Kenyon,

[00:09:03] my publisher, Whitaker House,

[00:09:04] who has published these four books

[00:09:06] that Dr. Kenyon and I,

[00:09:08] as it were,

[00:09:09] teamed together,

[00:09:09] when I say he's teamed with me,

[00:09:12] he's teamed by the books

[00:09:15] that God has enabled us to put together.

[00:09:17] And Dr. Kenyon was a man

[00:09:20] who was so convinced of God's calling,

[00:09:23] and he continued to be used by the Lord.

[00:09:27] I say again,

[00:09:28] one of the most amazing tributes

[00:09:30] is the fact of how the day

[00:09:32] he went home to heaven,

[00:09:33] how God gave a calling to him

[00:09:36] that now was the time,

[00:09:38] a premonition,

[00:09:39] that he was going to be with the Lord

[00:09:41] that very day.

[00:09:42] And he called his daughter Ruth in

[00:09:45] to tell her,

[00:09:46] Ruth, I'll be leaving you,

[00:09:47] and I'm going to leave the ministry

[00:09:49] with you, dear.

[00:09:50] You've been leading it for these years,

[00:09:52] and I want you just to carry on.

[00:09:55] Well, what a man of God

[00:09:57] to know the very day

[00:09:59] that he was going to go

[00:10:00] to be with the Lord forever.

[00:10:02] And that's what happened.

[00:10:03] So when I share about

[00:10:05] the power of God,

[00:10:07] and, you know, again,

[00:10:09] I've followed Paul's words.

[00:10:11] He said,

[00:10:12] follow me as I follow Christ.

[00:10:14] And I can say that

[00:10:15] about Dr. Kenyon.

[00:10:17] I've endeavored to follow him

[00:10:18] as he's followed Christ.

[00:10:20] And he's been

[00:10:21] a significant blessing.

[00:10:23] Well, my friend,

[00:10:25] I want to thank you for you

[00:10:27] that pray for us

[00:10:28] and for your helpful gifts

[00:10:29] for Bold Bible Living.

[00:10:30] Now the Father has given you

[00:10:32] and me a mission,

[00:10:34] Bold Bible mission,

[00:10:35] as we call it.

[00:10:36] And we have a need

[00:10:38] to fulfill this ministry,

[00:10:39] to serve and give our lives

[00:10:42] for others all over the world.

[00:10:44] And one of God's great promises

[00:10:46] he's given to you and me,

[00:10:48] he promises to provide

[00:10:50] the money we need each day.

[00:10:52] He simply asks us to trust him

[00:10:54] and that he will give to us.

[00:10:56] Thank God for the privilege,

[00:10:58] I say,

[00:10:59] to have faith in God.

[00:11:01] Now, as I have had the delight

[00:11:03] of sharing with you,

[00:11:05] I want to just simply

[00:11:07] give my heart expression

[00:11:09] today to you

[00:11:10] that we can together

[00:11:12] be obedient to the Lord.

[00:11:14] Loved one,

[00:11:15] please hear me.

[00:11:16] This is Don Gossett

[00:11:17] here in the studio.

[00:11:19] And I want to assure you

[00:11:20] on the authority

[00:11:21] of God's word

[00:11:22] that he'll see you

[00:11:23] through your personal

[00:11:24] testings and trials.

[00:11:26] I need to speak

[00:11:27] an important word,

[00:11:28] however,

[00:11:29] about the challenges

[00:11:31] of the Bold Bible missions.

[00:11:33] This is a time of year

[00:11:35] when the fight of faith

[00:11:36] for finances is evident.

[00:11:38] So please help us

[00:11:39] by your investment

[00:11:40] in our missions at home

[00:11:41] and overseas around the world.

[00:11:43] Thank you for sharing

[00:11:45] with us now.

[00:11:46] Well, there comes a time.

[00:11:48] I mean,

[00:11:49] to me,

[00:11:50] it's a high point

[00:11:51] of this ministry

[00:11:52] when I can lead you

[00:11:54] in speaking

[00:11:54] the most awesome words

[00:11:56] that can come out

[00:11:56] of your heart and mouth.

[00:11:58] And that's to say

[00:11:59] a genuine,

[00:12:00] wholehearted,

[00:12:01] Christ-honoring,

[00:12:02] devil-defeated,

[00:12:03] feeding praise the Lord.

[00:12:04] And let's say it

[00:12:05] ten times.

[00:12:06] Praise you,

[00:12:07] Lord.

[00:12:08] Amen.

[00:12:09] Praise you,

[00:12:10] Lord.

[00:12:10] Amen.

[00:12:12] Praise you,

[00:12:13] Lord.

[00:12:13] Amen.

[00:12:14] Praise you,

[00:12:15] Lord.

[00:12:16] Amen.

[00:12:17] Praise you,

[00:12:18] Lord.

[00:12:19] Amen.

[00:12:19] Amen.

[00:12:20] Praise you,

[00:12:21] Lord.

[00:12:22] Amen.

[00:12:23] Praise you,

[00:12:24] Lord.

[00:12:24] Amen.

[00:12:26] Praise you,

[00:12:27] Lord.

[00:12:27] Amen.

[00:12:28] Praise you,

[00:12:30] Lord.

[00:12:30] Amen.

[00:12:31] Praise you,

[00:12:33] Lord.

[00:12:33] Amen.

[00:12:35] Amen.
