[00:00:00] Yes, God will see you through. That's my lesson today to encourage you. I want to share with you today about a man of God whose writings have helped me walk in the path of a fulfilled life for not only me, literally millions of people.

[00:00:17] Dr. E. W. Kenyon left a legacy in his books that teach how God will see you through and give you truths that enable you to receive His grace and blessing.

[00:00:28] Now, the truth of these series today is from 2 Corinthians 4.13. It is written, I believe, therefore have I spoken. We also believe and therefore speak.

[00:00:42] Follow me as I follow Christ. That's the question that Paul's statement, that's a question that we have to answer. And yes, we can say, Lord, I will follow you as I follow Christ.

[00:00:55] I have been asked the question, you have been associated, Brother Don, in ministry with some mighty men whose ministries would you most desire to follow?

[00:01:07] Well, if I could write my own wish, I would say I would desire to follow Dr. E. W. Kenyon. Think about this. He received a premonition one day in March 1948 that he was leaving that very day for heaven.

[00:01:22] He wasn't ill, but the Lord spoke to him. This was the day he was going to his eternal home.

[00:01:30] He asked his daughter, Ruth, to accept the responsibility to carry on the work.

[00:01:36] And when Ruth passed away, capable persons have been used by God to continue this worldwide ministry.

[00:01:43] For more than 60 years, the ministry of Dr. Kenyon has continued very strongly.

[00:01:50] They sell an average of 55,000 to 60,000 of his books each year all over the world.

[00:01:57] My, I say what a legacy.

[00:01:58] So if I could write my own ticket, as it were, I would most desire to follow the ministry of Dr. Kenyon and his co-workers who have kept the outreach going every day, every week of the year since 1948 when dear Brother Kenyon left us.

[00:02:16] These tens of thousands of Kenyon books in various languages have gone out.

[00:02:21] What a testimony.

[00:02:22] I say what an example of persistent faith and obedience.

[00:02:27] And Paul wrote these words, follow me as I follow Christ.

[00:02:30] I ask you this personal question, whose ministry would you desire to follow as one who follows Christ?

[00:02:37] Now you might not become a famous pastor, evangelist, or teacher, but you can take Colossians 4, 17 as a guideline.

[00:02:46] Listen to this verse.

[00:02:53] Notice the command is explicit.

[00:02:56] Take heed.

[00:02:57] In other words, be obedient to the ministry which you have received from the Lord that you fulfill it.

[00:03:04] That's the objective.

[00:03:05] Now you may have a ministry of prayer.

[00:03:08] That's a valuable ministry.

[00:03:10] Or you may have a ministry of giving to the Lord's work.

[00:03:13] That also is very essential.

[00:03:15] But whatever your ministry, God's command is, take heed to it.

[00:03:21] I remember those seven years when I was in my 30s.

[00:03:25] I was pastor of a church in Surrey.

[00:03:27] Then I received a definite call to be a missionary evangelist to the world.

[00:03:31] I had no ambition to be a hero for God.

[00:03:35] I simply wanted to fulfill what he assigned to me.

[00:03:38] And thank God, the next 40 years, I have been involved in going to 56 nations where I have ministered the gospel.

[00:03:48] I praise the Lord that the rest is history.

[00:03:51] And I'm humbly grateful I could say with the Apostle Paul, I have not been disobedient to the heavenly vision.

[00:03:59] And then I remember when I was 16 years old, a high school student, my journalism teacher, Mrs. Field, said,

[00:04:08] Don, you have received a gift of writing, and I will help you develop it the next two years you are in my class.

[00:04:15] Well, I had no idea what a gift of writing was, but I discovered it.

[00:04:19] And by the grace of God, the Lord has helped me fulfill that gifting.

[00:04:24] Scores and scores of books I've written.

[00:04:27] When I worked with T.L. Osborne, I was editor of Faith Digest magazine.

[00:04:32] That magazine went out each year to 7,200,000 homes.

[00:04:37] So God has given me the call to be a writer, to have this gifting, and he's opened the doors.

[00:04:45] And I'm so grateful that he's given me the grace to step into these doors.

[00:04:50] I say, what a delight it's been.

[00:04:52] So I'm asking you now, are you fulfilling God's purpose for your life?

[00:04:58] I say again, it may not be a preacher or a writer or a singer, and there's only one life.

[00:05:03] It'll soon be passed.

[00:05:05] Only what's done for Christ will last.

[00:05:07] So I want you to meditate upon these words of Colossians 4,17.

[00:05:12] Take heed to the ministry that you have received from the Lord, that you fulfill it.

[00:05:19] Now, one of the most important ministries we have is to pray for lost souls.

[00:05:24] When you write me to pray for those in your heart who are unsaved, be sure to give me the name of each one.

[00:05:31] When I receive requests to pray for unnamed loved ones or friends,

[00:05:35] it seems it's less effective to pray just for anonymous persons.

[00:05:40] So when you send me the names of your loved ones to join with you in prayer,

[00:05:45] I say, please write their first name.

[00:05:47] Then I'll know who I'm praying for, a real person.

[00:05:51] And I'll count it a privilege to pray for those lost persons in your heart.

[00:05:55] But in order to make my prayer most effective, I want to pray for them by name.

[00:06:01] You can write me.

[00:06:03] If you read the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John,

[00:06:07] Jesus was often calling out people by name.

[00:06:11] Lazarus, come forth.

[00:06:13] And even on two occasions, he said, Martha, Martha.

[00:06:17] And then one time again, he said, Simon, Simon.

[00:06:21] Jesus emphasized the importance of calling people by name.

[00:06:25] And that's why I've asked you that when you send in a request for prayer for loved ones or friends,

[00:06:32] please put their first name so I can be very specific whom I'm praying for,

[00:06:39] and that Jesus himself will then speak to them.

[00:06:42] Now, I have a heart of compassion for you that are in financial trouble.

[00:06:47] I would count it a privilege also to pray for you, for your basic financial needs.

[00:06:52] The Bible says,

[00:06:53] The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

[00:06:57] And it perhaps would be helpful to pray specific answers to list the needs you have,

[00:07:04] the financial burdens,

[00:07:06] and I will pray fervently for each request you've made known.

[00:07:10] You see, I feel generalized requests written with no personalization

[00:07:14] are less likely to receive answers,

[00:07:17] for I don't really know who or what I'm praying for.

[00:07:21] And this is my experience in praying and getting results,

[00:07:24] is praying for people specifically by name,

[00:07:28] and also, if possible, what their particular need is.

[00:07:32] Now, health issues are one of the most frequent requests for prayer I've received.

[00:07:38] The Bible has many promises for healing.

[00:07:41] Pray one for another that you may be healed.

[00:07:44] The prayer of faith will save or heal the sick.

[00:07:47] Bear one another's burdens and fulfill the law of Christ.

[00:07:50] So I also have in my heart today

[00:07:53] your prodigal children who have strayed from the Lord.

[00:07:58] And I want to unite in prayer and loving compassion for your prodigal sons or daughters.

[00:08:03] So send me the names of your prodigal children.

[00:08:07] I'll intercede for them,

[00:08:08] so please give me their names,

[00:08:10] and I'll be in agreement with you

[00:08:11] for each dear prodigal to come to Christ

[00:08:14] and receive his wonderful grace.

[00:08:17] Father, in Jesus' name,

[00:08:19] I thank you for the privilege of fellowship with you in prayer

[00:08:23] and the opportunity we have to avail ourselves of your promises.

[00:08:27] Father, I pray today in Jesus' name that you'll minister to every heart.

[00:08:32] Lord, those who have a love for lost souls,

[00:08:36] their children, their grandchildren,

[00:08:39] the dear ones on their heart.

[00:08:41] Without Christ, I pray that your Holy Spirit indeed will do an awesome work.

[00:08:46] And Father, I pray that you'll bless and minister to every person

[00:08:50] who is vexed by financial needs.

[00:08:53] I ask you, Lord, to undertake for them

[00:08:56] and break through, Lord, for them this day,

[00:08:59] in this week or this month.

[00:09:00] In Jesus' name, I pray.

[00:09:02] Thank you, Lord, for your grace and blessing.

[00:09:05] Hallelujah.

[00:09:06] Well, what a delight it is to have faith in God,

[00:09:10] to have assurance of what doing his work will achieve for your life.

[00:09:15] So that's the reason I've come along today

[00:09:17] to share with you about the grace of God that I've experienced.

[00:09:22] Now, I would like to just take a moment here to thank you

[00:09:27] for your prayers for bold Bible living.

[00:09:30] And I thank you also for your helpful giving

[00:09:33] to keep this mission going for God's glory.

[00:09:37] You see, our Father knows that you and I have a need

[00:09:41] to serve and to give our lives for others.

[00:09:44] That's the motivation of our hearts, reaching out to others.

[00:09:48] Others, Lord, yes, others.

[00:09:50] Let this my motto be.

[00:09:53] Help me to live for others that I might live like thee.

[00:09:58] Lord, as I pray for others, may your will be fulfilled.

[00:10:03] Now, I'd like to just also again mention this.

[00:10:08] I know one of God's most specific promises

[00:10:11] is to provide the money we need each day, you and I.

[00:10:14] He's simply asking to trust his providential care

[00:10:19] by being good stewards of all he gives to us.

[00:10:23] And time and time again, my dear wife, Deborah and I,

[00:10:28] we've discovered that God is faithful

[00:10:31] for these years of our lives together

[00:10:34] as a husband and wife ministry team

[00:10:36] and also for the outreaches of all God's called us to do.

[00:10:40] I say God keeps his promise to provide for our needs.

[00:10:45] And we've also personally discovered

[00:10:47] the more we give above the tithe,

[00:10:50] the more abundant his financial blessings.

[00:10:52] So these are good news I'm sharing today with you.

[00:10:56] You are forgiven.

[00:10:57] God says, I'll give you power.

[00:11:00] And he says, I will provide for your needs.

[00:11:03] So we're ready to pray for you by name and need

[00:11:06] for God to give you desires of your heart.

[00:11:09] Deborah and I love you.

[00:11:10] And we want to pray for you

[00:11:12] and see God give you the fulfillment

[00:11:15] of your needs being met.

[00:11:17] Now, as we come to the closing moments of this broadcast,

[00:11:21] I count it as joy that he's called me

[00:11:23] to be a missionary evangelist

[00:11:25] for 40 full years of my life.

[00:11:28] And while I may have a different direction

[00:11:32] in fulfilling God's call,

[00:11:34] ministering primarily by the modern media

[00:11:37] of radio, television, of the internet,

[00:11:42] and of course, publishing books

[00:11:44] that are going around the world

[00:11:46] in many languages and praise God for that.

[00:11:49] So again, I say thank you for your love

[00:11:52] and thank you for your care in Jesus name.

[00:11:55] Join me now as we together say

[00:11:57] Praise the Lord. Amen.

[00:12:00] Let's say it 10 times.

[00:12:03] Praise the Lord. Amen.

[00:12:05] Praise the Lord. Amen.

[00:12:10] Praise the Lord. Amen.

[00:12:13] Praise the Lord. Amen.

[00:12:15] Praise the Lord. Amen.

[00:12:19] Praise the Lord. Amen.

[00:12:22] Praise the Lord. Amen.

[00:12:25] Praise the Lord. Amen.

[00:12:31] Hallelujah.

[00:12:31] Hallelujah.
