049 - When A Real Crisis Kicks In #4 - Don Gossett

[00:00:00] The Bible says, Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, into His courts with praise.

[00:00:06] Would you like to take a trip into the courts of the Lord? Well, there are courts of praise.

[00:00:13] So join me today as we launch into this teaching on overcoming crisis by affirming praise the Lord

[00:00:23] and let's say attend delightful faith building times praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

[00:00:33] Praise the Lord! Amen!

[00:00:48] Amen. Now, as I've shared about overcoming crisis and about how the Word of God declares

[00:00:56] the words of David, I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise should continue to be in my

[00:01:03] mouth. And now David said, in overcoming crisis, you must praise the Lord at all times. What time

[00:01:12] does that mean? Well, it means those up times as well as down times, dark times, bright times,

[00:01:18] yes, at all times. We are commanded to praise the Lord. And I want to help you today to embrace the

[00:01:27] scripture of Isaiah 61, where God promises he would give us beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for

[00:01:34] mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Out of the ashes of your disappointments,

[00:01:41] the Lord will give you beauty. And he knows you who have lost loved ones by death. And he'll give you

[00:01:47] a supernatural impartation of oil of joy that will replace your mourning. And then he will give you

[00:01:55] and he'll close you with a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. I'd like to share about some

[00:02:02] precious testimonies of people who have put on the garment of praise and have received God's

[00:02:08] wonderful deliverance. I have before me the testimony of a lady named Irma from Red Deer.

[00:02:16] She wrote, there's victory in praising the Lord. For 32 years, I suffered with bronchitis,

[00:02:24] then asthma. All the treatments and medication I had only gave temporary relief, but didn't cure me.

[00:02:32] When I went to your crusade in Calgary, you prayed for me and you told me then to start praising the

[00:02:39] Lord. So I did. The Lord Jesus healed my asthma, the devil pneumonia, and he opened up some collapsed

[00:02:47] lobes in my lungs. I've continued to praise the Lord every day, and I've been well since that beautiful

[00:02:55] day of my healing. Praise the Lord. Amen. Well, one of the finest stories of overcoming

[00:03:02] crisis and implying the principle of praise is the testimony of a lady named Ruth. She lived here in

[00:03:12] the British Columbia area, and she suffered with 24 major diseases. Her husband, Ray, moved her to live

[00:03:21] high up on a mountain on a home there, for she was so subject to noise that it vexed her spirit,

[00:03:27] any kind of noise. The voice of people, radio, television, all the factors. Noise was just something

[00:03:36] she couldn't tolerate. And then a wonderful spiritual experience happened. Ruth's mother was guided by the

[00:03:44] Lord to go see Ruth and gave her what she called a word from the Lord. She said, Ruth, if you'll listen

[00:03:52] to Brother Don Gossett on radio today, he'll have a message from God that we'll use to help you be healed.

[00:04:01] Ruth protested, oh, but Mother, you know I couldn't stand to hear radio.

[00:04:06] The Mother encouraged her, Ruth, darling, please listen.

[00:04:11] Ruth reluctantly did so.

[00:04:13] And when I came to the close of my broadcast, as I often do, I invited everyone to join me as we praise the Lord ten times.

[00:04:23] And I made this statement that impacted Ruth's heart.

[00:04:26] I said, even if you are so weak, you can only whisper praise.

[00:04:31] The Lord will hear you.

[00:04:32] And Ruth exclaimed, Mother, he's talking about me.

[00:04:35] I can only whisper praises.

[00:04:38] And Ruth did so, and a miracle began to happen.

[00:04:41] Slowly but surely, Ruth was healed of all 24 diseases.

[00:04:47] And she and her husband twice came to my meetings in Vancouver and shared this story.

[00:04:54] And then I invited them to be my guest on radio.

[00:04:57] And each time they shared this, it was a real faith builder.

[00:05:01] For Ray said how that for two whole years they had lived only by whispers to each other.

[00:05:09] Anything above a whisper would somehow shatter Ruth's spirit.

[00:05:14] And for those two years, whispering was the way.

[00:05:17] But Ruth whispered beginning praise the Lord and ten times.

[00:05:22] And it became a practice that God totally used to minister healing.

[00:05:27] That is to me one of the sweetest accounts I've ever had come to me.

[00:05:31] And I believe it can happen to you.

[00:05:33] So praise the Lord.

[00:05:35] Amen.

[00:05:36] I want to share a story of another lady named Joan of Scarborough, Ontario.

[00:05:43] She was dying of leukemia.

[00:05:45] It was a very grim experience in her life.

[00:05:48] Her suffering was intense.

[00:05:50] And unfortunately, her husband chose to leave her in the midst of her severe suffering.

[00:05:56] And that was a heartbreaking experience as well.

[00:05:59] Well, she overcame that resentment and bitterness about her husband leaving her, abandoning her alone.

[00:06:06] And then she began to hear my radio broadcast.

[00:06:10] Out there in Ontario, on her station, I was there at about 10 o'clock at night.

[00:06:15] And Ruth, pardon me, this is Joan I'm talking about now.

[00:06:20] Joan would rise up out of her illness in her sickbed and stand there in the darkened room and join me in saying praise the Lord ten times.

[00:06:31] I'm sure that must have looked peculiar.

[00:06:34] For Joan's own daughter would protest.

[00:06:37] She said, but mother, you look so well silly almost standing there in the middle of the night with your hands raised, saying praise the Lord.

[00:06:46] But Ruth, or I keep saying Ruth, Joan again, I'm talking about, would reply to her daughter.

[00:06:54] But I know God has given me a victory and I'll continue to praise him.

[00:06:59] Well, Joan was totally healed of leukemia.

[00:07:02] And while it didn't impress her daughter by her actions before she received total healing, but thank God Joan was not just improved, she was completely healed by God's grace.

[00:07:17] And now this woman was one who had been deeply hurt, not only by the suffering of leukemia, but her husband leaving her.

[00:07:25] However, thank God she persisted.

[00:07:29] And the Lord healed the leukemia.

[00:07:32] And then she came out here to the West Coast to meet me personally, just simply to share with me what God had done.

[00:07:39] I can never forget how her face was so radiant that she shared her miracle.

[00:07:43] And again, I must say praise the Lord.

[00:07:46] Amen.

[00:07:47] And my beloved friend, even as these two women I've just shared about, or three women, Irma from Red Deer, Ruth from Vancouver,

[00:07:56] and Joan from Scarborough, Ontario, all three of them received the miracle of God's grace.

[00:08:03] And you know, when I was recently on the telecast entitled It's Supernatural,

[00:08:09] we acted upon this principle of praise with a national audience.

[00:08:16] And the breakthrough became very evident.

[00:08:20] As the glory of God filled that studio and was transmitted across the world,

[00:08:25] the importance of praising the Lord.

[00:08:27] And that's my challenge to you today.

[00:08:30] I know some of you are really embittered by circumstances that vex your life.

[00:08:36] And you wonder, how can I ever find any help?

[00:08:39] Or how can I ever overcome?

[00:08:42] Well, if you'll simply rise up above that defeated spirit and honor the Lord Jesus,

[00:08:49] you can rise up above that defeated spirit by a joyful praise to God.

[00:08:55] It may be a sacrifice.

[00:08:56] It may be you don't feel like it, but you praise the Lord and His word commands.

[00:09:02] And as you practice by simply willpower and boldness,

[00:09:07] you can overcome and rise above every negative circumstance.

[00:09:12] Now I know that the fact that you must dissip your lips to say praise the Lord

[00:09:18] may be an overwhelming experience, but God can give grace and you can experience blessing.

[00:09:25] So again, I want to say to you these words that I spoke earlier in this series,

[00:09:31] and that is that praise.

[00:09:33] I'm so convinced, so persuaded.

[00:09:36] I've experienced it all these years so wonderfully.

[00:09:40] Crisis has come one after the other in all kinds of situations.

[00:09:44] But I have learned this truth, that praise will bring the answer.

[00:09:51] And I believe praising the Lord will bring the answer for you.

[00:09:55] I mean, you can experience God's healing touch.

[00:09:59] Even you can expect His prosperity and financial supply.

[00:10:04] And most of all, you can expect the salvation of your unsaved loved ones,

[00:10:09] your prodigal children.

[00:10:11] And you can know God's wonderful safety.

[00:10:13] You've heard me share these stories about my being in major accidents in automobiles

[00:10:20] that rolled over mountainsides,

[00:10:22] and how that each time God gave me a victory and gave me deliverance,

[00:10:27] and I was unhurt.

[00:10:28] These things are real.

[00:10:30] I know that you, likewise, are a prime target for the enemy.

[00:10:34] He wants to minister dismay to your life.

[00:10:39] But I want to assure you that God will give you the ability to win the battle

[00:10:44] as you submit yourself and praise the dear Lord Jesus.

[00:10:48] Please do that, for you'll regain all the enemy stolen from you.

[00:10:54] I believe as you praise the Lord, you'll triumph over every strategy of the wicked one.

[00:11:00] And thank God, I believe you can even receive miraculous healing as many others have,

[00:11:08] as these people I've shared.

[00:11:10] So let's expect God to manifest to you, to minister to your life.

[00:11:14] Father, I've shared simple truths about your grace and about your provision,

[00:11:20] about your abundance, blessing, and life.

[00:11:23] And today, Lord, I pray that every listening friend will simply submit to you, Lord,

[00:11:29] and receive the power of the Holy Spirit to know the overcoming grace of your word.

[00:11:35] In Jesus' name, amen.

[00:11:38] Well, there comes a time on every broadcast

[00:11:41] when I simply challenge you to join me in praising the Lord.

[00:11:45] Now, it wasn't very long ago.

[00:11:49] In fact, the very first time I ever spoke this

[00:11:52] was on the studio in Valley, North Carolina,

[00:11:57] was on the Supernatural program.

[00:12:00] I just read in my Bible about this affirmation of Scripture,

[00:12:04] Praise the Lord, amen.

[00:12:06] That's what the Scripture said.

[00:12:09] And so I led that entire telecast.

[00:12:13] And I concluded it by saying,

[00:12:15] People, praise the Lord, amen.

[00:12:18] And great victory came.

[00:12:19] It will come for you.

[00:12:20] Will you join me, please?

[00:12:21] Praise the Lord, amen.

[00:12:24] Praise the Lord, amen.
