[00:00:00] I was ministering at the Antioch Baptist Church in Bassettier. The question that came to my mind was what's more hurtful than to be totally blind in both eyes. In that meeting at the Antioch Baptist Church, a lady came forward with a remarkable story how she had been blind for many years. And here's what she shared that night. She said, while listening to your broadcast a couple of years ago,
[00:00:29] the Holy Spirit inspired my faith as you asked those in the radio audience who needed healing to place their hands upon their affliction. I placed my hands on my blind eyes as you prayed in the name of Jesus. The Lord performed a miracle. My blind eyes were open. Now I can see and read even the finest print.
[00:00:51] Well in that service there are a number of people who came forward to verify they knew this lady very well. And they were joining together and giving thanks for God's healing her and opening her blind eyes. He's an unchanging Lord. He's Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever. And he wants you to know that victory, healing, blessing can be yours. However you're hurt.
[00:01:18] Now here are seven words that will enable you to overcome your hurts. I can do all things through Christ. Seven words that say it all. Your I can't and your I give up have diminished your world. Your I can with God's help and I'll keep going will add abundance to your life.
[00:01:38] So the words you speak about your hurts can make you in your life either miserable or happy. You can choose to speak faith-filled words and they'll bless you. The Holy Spirit will change your I can't to I can.
[00:01:53] Every Christian hearing me today, you're able to say with Paul, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4 19.
[00:02:02] Those two words, I can, will transform your world from destructive hurts to being an empowered person who persistently says,
[00:02:11] I can rise above my hurts. I can do anything God wants me to do.
[00:02:17] For Jesus said in Matthew 4 4,
[00:02:20] Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
[00:02:26] Speaking words of faith will turn your I can't and I won't to I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
[00:02:33] There's a growing body of evidence from those who pass over the line into the next world and return to give witness.
[00:02:42] One of my most delightful friends is Pastor Floyd Dime.
[00:02:46] He had a man in his church named Steve, whom he said was a Christian man who had a reputation for being very honest.
[00:02:55] And Steve was in a deep coma for two days during an illness.
[00:02:59] His family thought he was gone and were surprised to see him awaken from the coma.
[00:03:04] Steve was mentally alert when Pastor Dime went to see him.
[00:03:08] He said,
[00:03:09] While I was in the coma, Pastor, I saw Jesus.
[00:03:13] I saw my father and my wife.
[00:03:15] And the pastor asked Steve,
[00:03:19] As his eyes sparkled with joy as he told about seeing those who had died years before,
[00:03:25] He asked him if the Lord spoke to him was anything special for all of us.
[00:03:31] And Steve said,
[00:03:33] The Lord said,
[00:03:34] Give God praise for everything.
[00:03:36] What a message.
[00:03:38] Give God praise for everything.
[00:03:40] What appropriate word for you to have been hurt.
[00:03:43] Praise is the key to rising above hurt.
[00:03:46] You're coming into the world of peace.
[00:03:48] I know this is a complex world.
[00:03:51] But in the Christian context, one simple expression of faith is,
[00:03:55] I can do all things with the help of Christ.
[00:03:58] Your faith will exude, I can.
[00:04:01] It's believing that he's with you and will help you do anything you need to do,
[00:04:06] including healing of your hurts.
[00:04:09] Now, I had a dear 90-year-old friend named Florence.
[00:04:13] She was a very precious friend.
[00:04:15] Anytime I was in contact with her and asked how she was,
[00:04:19] Florence would always reply,
[00:04:21] I feel healthy.
[00:04:23] I feel happy.
[00:04:24] I feel terrific.
[00:04:25] I mean, it brought such radiance to her,
[00:04:28] such a wonderful expression.
[00:04:30] Then it can also work for you.
[00:04:32] How about it?
[00:04:33] Why don't you speak up and say,
[00:04:34] I feel healthy.
[00:04:35] I feel happy.
[00:04:37] I feel terrific.
[00:04:38] So today, choose love instead of fear.
[00:04:41] Choose peace instead of conflict.
[00:04:44] Choose to be a love finder instead of a fault finder.
[00:04:47] Choose to be a love giver instead of a love seeker.
[00:04:51] I know many of you, to whom I speak, are hurting financially.
[00:04:56] There are few things in this materialistic world more hurtful than money problems.
[00:05:02] Someone has well said,
[00:05:04] It's no sin to be poor.
[00:05:05] It's just mighty inconvenient.
[00:05:07] And I say amen.
[00:05:09] I became father of five adorable children when I was only 28 years of age.
[00:05:15] Being responsible for so many mouths to feed presented unusual demands for money,
[00:05:20] usually more money than I had.
[00:05:23] And those financial situations created many, many hurtful events.
[00:05:28] And it was during those days when I was raising those five children that I embraced Philippians 4.13 as my life verse.
[00:05:37] I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
[00:05:41] I would break that scripture down and apply each word to my money demands that were unrelenting.
[00:05:47] Here's how I spoke.
[00:05:48] I, Don Gossett, can have the money to provide for my family.
[00:05:54] Do what God says.
[00:05:56] Seek him first.
[00:05:57] All, no lack, the supply of all my needs, things, whatever the needs are.
[00:06:02] True, my source, my provider.
[00:06:05] Jesus Christ, thank God, my generous Lord.
[00:06:08] And here I've shared with you seven words that say it all.
[00:06:11] I can do all things through Christ.
[00:06:14] And he is really all you need for provision to break the curse of poverty,
[00:06:19] to lease you from hurts over lack of money.
[00:06:22] Now, God doesn't promise to make us millionaires,
[00:06:26] but he does prove his ability to meet our every need.
[00:06:29] Thank God he's our shepherd we do not want.
[00:06:32] One action plan for financial breakthrough I've experienced,
[00:06:36] lay your unpaid bills on a table.
[00:06:39] Then speak God's supply of the money you need.
[00:06:42] And finalize this action by praising the Lord.
[00:06:46] So here's a great affirmation.
[00:06:48] Say, praise the Lord, amen.
[00:06:51] Praise the Lord, amen.
[00:06:53] That's the language of faith, the language of victory, the language of heaven.
[00:06:57] This word, amen, means so be it.
[00:06:59] And when you affirm faithful words and say, praise the Lord, amen,
[00:07:05] I'm convinced God works.
[00:07:07] So speak often.
[00:07:08] Praise the Lord, amen.
[00:07:11] So right now, break the silence of uncertainty.
[00:07:15] Speak with confidence these ten power-packed phrases.
[00:07:18] Praise the Lord, amen.
[00:07:44] I hope you'll practice that often.
[00:07:46] is no magic phrase, it's simply God's Word.
[00:07:50] Now, perhaps I've had more hurts in my life
[00:07:53] involving financial problems than any health issue
[00:07:57] or any relationship disappointment,
[00:08:00] but I'm so grateful that my Heavenly Father
[00:08:03] has been my source for adequate provisions
[00:08:06] and now for scores of years.
[00:08:09] I've not only overcome financial lack in my own family,
[00:08:14] but I've been faced with ministry requirements
[00:08:16] to pay thousands of dollars each and every month
[00:08:19] to purchase radio time on the Internet,
[00:08:23] to publish books,
[00:08:25] and I've learned to live by this same truth.
[00:08:28] I can do all things through Christ.
[00:08:32] Someone coined the phrase,
[00:08:33] when the going gets tough, the tough get going,
[00:08:36] and I believe that'll be your experience by the grace of God.
[00:08:40] Now, let me share with you an experience along this line.
[00:08:43] In Vancouver, I was leading my final service
[00:08:47] before going on an extensive missionary journey
[00:08:50] for meetings in seven nations.
[00:08:53] In each of these overseas trips, I've taken scores of them.
[00:08:57] We're always responsible for paying all expenses,
[00:09:00] our airfares, advertising costs, personal needs.
[00:09:03] And in those overseas ventures, we never receive love offerings.
[00:09:07] We only receive monies rarely in any of those foreign lands.
[00:09:13] And when I was there in that meeting in Vancouver,
[00:09:16] I was aware that the offering in that service
[00:09:19] had been quite inadequate for those seven crusades.
[00:09:23] I turned my heart to God's Word.
[00:09:26] I began to speak the words of Jesus.
[00:09:28] Your Father knows that you have needed all these things.
[00:09:31] Luke 12, 20.
[00:09:33] Psalm 84, 11.
[00:09:35] The Lord will give grace and glory.
[00:09:37] No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
[00:09:40] In that final service in Canada
[00:09:42] was a Christian man named Jack.
[00:09:45] He had just retired from being a pressman for the Vancouver Sun.
[00:09:49] He took me aside and told me, he said,
[00:09:52] I have just sold my home,
[00:09:53] and I have some money I want to invest in the Lord's service.
[00:09:57] He went on to say,
[00:09:58] The Lord gave me a vision of countries where oxen are used for plowing and transportation.
[00:10:04] I was told by the Lord that I was to invest my money
[00:10:07] in those places where there was oxen.
[00:10:10] Oxen, yes.
[00:10:13] And he said,
[00:10:13] When I heard you were going where oxen were used,
[00:10:16] my vision was confirmed.
[00:10:18] God shall supply.
[00:10:20] God's will shall be done
[00:10:22] for the salvation of multitudes,
[00:10:24] the lost souls,
[00:10:25] for healing of the sick,
[00:10:27] for personal ministry
[00:10:28] to thousands of boys and girls who shall attend.
[00:10:31] And Jack went on to say to me,
[00:10:34] If you'll meet me at my bank tomorrow at 10 a.m.,
[00:10:38] I will give you the money for your missionary trip.
[00:10:41] Oh, praise God.
[00:10:43] When I arrived overseas,
[00:10:44] each time I saw oxen,
[00:10:47] I would thank the Father
[00:10:48] for giving that divine vision
[00:10:50] to my brother Jack back in Vancouver,
[00:10:54] and my hurts were healed.
[00:10:55] Well, hallelujah.
[00:10:57] Well, I want to encourage you to know
[00:10:59] you can have God's provision
[00:11:01] and be blessed.
[00:11:03] And he wants you simply to have a giving heart.
[00:11:07] I've been talking about breakthrough giving.
[00:11:10] I should never forget when God gave me the desire
[00:11:13] to give as generously, passionately,
[00:11:15] and extravagantly as I could.
[00:11:17] Because I was born in those deep depression years,
[00:11:20] the 1930s,
[00:11:22] I was always beset with a poverty mindset.
[00:11:25] When I began to pray God would make me an extravagant giver,
[00:11:30] my life changed.
[00:11:32] I learned that giving is one of the most liberating,
[00:11:34] joy-producing,
[00:11:35] and high-impacting disciplines
[00:11:37] in which a Christian can engage.
[00:11:40] And I'm so humbly grateful
[00:11:42] that this became real to my life.
[00:11:44] And I'll tell you more about that
[00:11:46] and how you can overcome the hurts
[00:11:49] of financial lack.
[00:11:51] Now join me.
[00:11:52] Join me, please.
[00:11:54] As we simply say it again,
[00:11:55] Praise the Lord.
[00:12:14] Hallelujah.
