[00:00:47] Hallelujah! Well, praise God. Praise is a great forerunner to overcoming.

[00:00:53] In whatever area. I'm speaking about asking this question to you, are you hurting?

[00:01:00] Now, many of you are hurting because of pain, physical, spiritual, mental disorders causing you distress.

[00:01:09] Let me share with you a remarkable testimony. It was written out by a lady whom God changed

[00:01:15] from an unhappy sick life to a life feeling well and full of joy. Her name is Joan and she lives

[00:01:23] in Boharm, Saskatchewan. She gave me this testimony in person and it read like this.

[00:01:32] About three years ago, I suffered the worst of many miserable years of my life by having a nervous breakdown.

[00:01:39] After this breakdown, I began to pray earnestly for God to show me real answers to my problems.

[00:01:46] One day, the Lord led me to stop and listen to your broadcast, Brother Gossett.

[00:01:50] I began to understand what I must do to be delivered.

[00:01:54] Through your broadcast and your literature, God changed my life.

[00:01:58] And since that day when I was so miserable with a nervous breakdown,

[00:02:03] the Lord has performed wonders for me.

[00:02:05] I've been completely healed. Praise God.

[00:02:09] And knowing what God had done for me, I was anxious to take my dear mother to your meeting in Moose Jaw.

[00:02:16] My mother suffered from great pain from phlebitis.

[00:02:20] And when you prayed for her in Jesus' name, mother released her faith and was totally healed.

[00:02:27] Praise God.

[00:02:29] And that same night, in that same service in Moose Jaw, my daughter received Christ as her Savior.

[00:02:35] Also, my husband and my mother did the same.

[00:02:39] I'm so happy to proclaim Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

[00:02:46] Now, talking about hurting.

[00:02:50] I mean, it's so challenging to meet those people that live a life of hurting.

[00:02:56] And let me give you the testimony of a girl who for nine years lived in a life of hurting.

[00:03:04] And she wrote me this.

[00:03:06] I was wonderfully healed by Jesus and received the salvation to those who will accept the Son of God.

[00:03:13] This is what Linda from Levington, B.C. wrote me.

[00:03:17] She went on and said,

[00:03:18] When I was five years old, I began to suffer with reoccurring attacks of rheumatic fever until I was 14 years old.

[00:03:26] I spent months of each year lying in a hospital taking medications.

[00:03:32] And she, in this handwritten letter she gave to me, she went on to write,

[00:03:38] I was very sick and getting worse.

[00:03:40] The doctor put me on sulfa drugs.

[00:03:42] My parents heard about your meetings here in the Okanagan Valley.

[00:03:47] Christian friends urged my mother to take me to your meeting for prayer.

[00:03:52] I had to be carried into that meeting, but praise my wonderful Jesus.

[00:03:57] Your prayers for me were wonderfully answered.

[00:04:00] I walked out of that meeting completely healed, and Jesus has walked beside me ever since.

[00:04:06] I thank Jesus every day for what he has done for me.

[00:04:10] Praise God.

[00:04:11] Well, what was the best result of Linda's miracle?

[00:04:15] Of course, being healed of the dreaded condition that oppressed her body.

[00:04:20] But also, the greater miracle was the fact that her whole family of eight were all saved that night.

[00:04:27] Others, too, who witnessed this wonder of God, came to receive Christ as their Savior.

[00:04:33] And because of the convincing evidence that Jesus is alive, he was glorified, and Linda was totally made whole.

[00:04:42] So this girl, Linda, who for nine years was in the hospital much of the time, was healed by the greater physician, Jesus Christ.

[00:04:52] Amen.

[00:04:53] And the Bible says in Acts 10, 38,

[00:04:56] God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power.

[00:05:01] He went about doing good, healing all oppressed of the devil, for God is with him.

[00:05:05] Oh, what a privilege it's been to, as a follower of Jesus, to endeavor to be anointed to do his work just like Jesus did,

[00:05:14] to be commissioned by our Lord to go about doing good.

[00:05:18] And he fortifies this instruction in John 14, 12.

[00:05:23] He that believes in me, the works that I do, shall he do also.

[00:05:27] I thank my Father numerous times for giving me opportunities to reach and touch people who are hurting because of their infirmities.

[00:05:37] Here's the story of another hurting person.

[00:05:40] She described the pain of her affliction unbearable.

[00:05:44] And I want you to rejoice with this lady named Sheila.

[00:05:48] She wrote me,

[00:05:50] When I lived in Barbados, I heard your radio program every morning at 545 a.m.

[00:05:56] I now live in New York State.

[00:05:58] About three years ago, I became very sick with my feet.

[00:06:02] I had pain in them that was unbearable.

[00:06:05] I've gone to the doctors.

[00:06:07] They said it was arthritis.

[00:06:08] I had treatments that dulled the pain, but nothing helped.

[00:06:11] It seemed I would be crippled for the rest of my life.

[00:06:15] My deliverance began after a nice Christian friend lent me some of your books on praising the Lord.

[00:06:21] Oh, how they blessed my heart.

[00:06:24] Also, I learned to rebuke the devil in Jesus' name, and I started doing so.

[00:06:30] This combination of rebuking the devil in the name of Jesus and then praising the Lord were the forerunners of my total deliverance.

[00:06:39] And on the night of June the 11th, my friend and I got together for prayer.

[00:06:43] We rebuked the devil in Jesus' name, and we began to praise God for my healing.

[00:06:48] The next morning when I woke up, I found I was completely healed.

[00:06:53] Oh, praise God.

[00:06:54] I was walking pain-free from that time on.

[00:06:58] So I'll continue to praise God, for he has done so much.

[00:07:02] I'm so very, very glad.

[00:07:04] And I can say with David, thus will I bless thee while I live.

[00:07:09] I will lift up my hands in your name.

[00:07:12] I would say to you, beloved friend, whatever the oppression on your life, whether it's sickness, fear, lack, whatever,

[00:07:20] you can practice these same keys that Sheila employed.

[00:07:24] Rebuke the one who is the oppressor, the devil, and praise the Lord Jesus, for by his stripes you're healed.

[00:07:32] Now I have another testimony here from a lady named Sarah.

[00:07:37] She had been pronounced incurably afflicted by her doctors.

[00:07:41] In desperation, she made many attempts to be healed by the Lord.

[00:07:45] After many months, she grew only worse and became quite discouraged.

[00:07:50] Then the truth of Mark 16, 18 challenged her life.

[00:07:55] What does Mark 16, 18 say?

[00:07:57] Jesus said, these signs shall follow them that believe.

[00:08:01] They shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

[00:08:04] She realized it wasn't the multiple prayers of others which should be healed.

[00:08:08] But steadfastly, she embraced this promise of the Master.

[00:08:12] And she came to my meetings, asking that we lay our hands on her for healing.

[00:08:19] Now, after that happened, some friends tried to discourage her, even as she affirmed her new confession of faith.

[00:08:27] They would ask her, how are you feeling, Sarah?

[00:08:31] Then they would say, you're not looking well at all.

[00:08:35] Well, Sarah would answer, I'm not going on how I look or how I feel.

[00:08:39] I refuse to waver in my faith.

[00:08:42] Jesus said, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

[00:08:46] And that's for me.

[00:08:48] I know I'm recovering.

[00:08:50] Of course, there were those Job's comforters, those so-called well-wishers,

[00:08:55] who persisted in throwing cold water on Sarah's confession of faith.

[00:09:00] But she was resolute and she would respond,

[00:09:03] Never would I have been so presumptuous to have had hands laid on me had I not expected the Lord's manifestation.

[00:09:11] This was God's word, and God is not a man he should lie.

[00:09:15] Now Sarah's part in this drama of faith was to hold fast her confession of faith without wavering, Hebrews 10.23 commands.

[00:09:24] And for her it was a good fight of faith, but the Lord made her completely whole.

[00:09:30] My beloved friend, take the cue from what happened to Sarah.

[00:09:34] If you need healing, speak these words.

[00:09:37] With his stripes I'm healed.

[00:09:40] Isaiah 53.5

[00:09:41] Matthew 8.17

[00:09:43] Jesus himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses, and by whose stripes you were healed.

[00:09:51] Yes, thank God, this is the truth of the word of God, and this is the provision for you.

[00:09:57] Heavenly Father, I come to you today in Jesus' name,

[00:10:02] in behalf of every person that is sick, diseased, or oppressed.

[00:10:06] Lord, they're hurting, hurting because of affliction upon their body.

[00:10:11] And I speak in the name of Jesus,

[00:10:13] for their release from these pains, this suffering,

[00:10:16] and for healing and wholeness.

[00:10:18] In Jesus' name, amen.

[00:10:21] Now, beloved friend, if you are hurting, here's what you should do.

[00:10:26] If possible, identify the cause of your hurts.

[00:10:29] Deal with it by allowing the Holy Spirit to search your heart

[00:10:33] to discover if there are factors that would contribute to your hurts.

[00:10:37] One of the most important actions is this.

[00:10:40] Get right with God.

[00:10:42] Think of those four words.

[00:10:44] Get right with God.

[00:10:45] If you have unconfessed or unforsaken sin,

[00:10:49] confess that the Lord these two truths.

[00:10:53] Proverbs 28, 13.

[00:10:55] He who covers his sins shall not prosper,

[00:10:58] but whoever confesses and forsakes his sins shall have mercy.

[00:11:02] And 1 John 1, 9.

[00:11:04] If we confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us our sins

[00:11:09] and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

[00:11:12] And the second thing I would ask you to do if you want to receive deliverance,

[00:11:17] examine your life to see if you have unforgiveness, malice, ill will, bitterness,

[00:11:22] or resentment against anyone.

[00:11:24] You must verbally forgive anyone against whom you have ought.

[00:11:28] You just cannot be right with God and wrong with another person.

[00:11:32] So I say to you again, in humility, get right with God.

[00:11:38] Now there are other blockades the Spirit may bring to your attention,

[00:11:41] like pride, arrogance, wrong motives.

[00:11:44] So 1 Peter 5, 7 is the powerful truth,

[00:11:48] casting all your cares on him who cares for you.

[00:11:52] If you cast them upon the Lord, then they're his, not yours.

[00:11:56] Thank God for this truth.

[00:11:58] And now join me as we together praise the Lord.
