033 - How Mighty His Wonders #7 - Don Gossett

[00:00:00] I thought it good to show the signs and wonders that the High God has wrought towards me.

[00:00:07] How great are His signs, and how mighty are His wonders.

[00:00:12] His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation.

[00:00:19] Daniel chapter 4 verses 2 and 3.

[00:00:22] Well, I count it a joy to be able to share the wonderful things God has been pleased to do

[00:00:28] as He has sent me to be a missionary evangelist all over the world to 56 nations.

[00:00:34] I've been focusing in these days about ministering in the islands of the West Indies.

[00:00:41] And, you know, life there is so unusual with all the different factors.

[00:00:47] I remember one morning I picked up a book.

[00:00:50] I thought it had an unusual thickness as they held up my hand.

[00:00:54] And when I searched for the pages to determine the unusual thickness,

[00:00:58] I discovered a lizard had taken up an occupancy in my book.

[00:01:04] And during another night, a large lizard climbed all over my feet and legs while I slept.

[00:01:11] And it awakened me abruptly.

[00:01:13] And then another time a tropical insect with very long wings and long stingers

[00:01:18] came upon my head during the night.

[00:01:21] I swatted it, and its remains were scattered over my bed the next morning.

[00:01:25] Well, such has been life in the tropics.

[00:01:28] It's been one of the parts of the world God sent me, the tropical climates.

[00:01:32] And it's a critical adjustment to go to a tropical climate compared to the mild climate we have at home.

[00:01:41] So it's been my joy to win many souls to Christ day after day in services everywhere.

[00:01:49] While there may be some inconveniences and unusual experiences,

[00:01:53] it's all worth it when we invite people to share heaven's joys with us.

[00:01:58] And praise God, it's a wonder of the Lord.

[00:02:00] I was thinking about, I was on the island of Dominica.

[00:02:06] My friend Dennis White took me from village to village to minister the gospel.

[00:02:11] It was a delight to speak to people in those different remote villages.

[00:02:17] And I would meet many hundreds of people every night who were listeners to my radio broadcast.

[00:02:23] And one day Dennis said to me, Don, I want you to meet a man who has been greatly helped by your broadcast.

[00:02:29] And then Dennis told me about the man.

[00:02:32] While he was yet unconverted, he entrusted his savings to the hands of a woman who squandered all of his money.

[00:02:40] When he went to her for his money, the woman laughed at him and told him she had spent all of his money.

[00:02:47] The man said later that suddenly a wicked spirit seized him, so he picked up a cutlass and proceeded to destroy that woman.

[00:02:57] He cut her up into fine pieces until they had to scoop up her remains.

[00:03:01] The man was considered so violent that the officials in Dominica could not keep him there in prison.

[00:03:09] So they sent him off to Jamaica.

[00:03:10] And it was while hearing the gospel on the radio that he knelt in his prison cell and received Jesus Christ, his personal Savior and Lord.

[00:03:20] And he became such a muddled prisoner that his turn was reduced.

[00:03:24] And he was sent back to his home in Dominica.

[00:03:27] The man was a listener, of course, to my daily broadcast.

[00:03:31] And he could hear me several times a day there in Dominica, both in English and in their Patois dialect.

[00:03:38] Well, the Lord used my ministry to minister strength to that brother.

[00:03:42] And he became a stalwart Christian.

[00:03:45] And when Dennis took me to that man's home, there I met a giant of a man.

[00:03:50] And it was such a delight to see how God had touched his heart.

[00:03:55] To make him not only a strong-looking man on the outside, but to have the warmth of Jesus' love.

[00:04:01] What a privilege it was to see the wonderful change that the Lord can give to a murderer who became a new creature in Christ Jesus as he had listened to the radio broadcast.

[00:04:14] And the Bible says,

[00:04:23] Now, I have been sharing with you about the truth that what you say is what you get.

[00:04:30] That's the book I've written that has been used by God all over the world in many languages.

[00:04:36] And for you today hearing me, there's just no doubt about it.

[00:04:41] That what you say is what you get.

[00:04:43] Who said that?

[00:04:44] The Lord Jesus said it in Mark 11, 23.

[00:04:48] Hear his words.

[00:04:49] And whosoever shall say unto this mountain,

[00:04:53] Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea,

[00:04:56] And shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe,

[00:04:59] That those things which he say shall come to pass,

[00:05:02] He shall have whatsoever he sayeth.

[00:05:05] I mean, this is so critical.

[00:05:07] The mighty victories I have personally experienced,

[00:05:10] And the lives of so many other people who have shared with me,

[00:05:14] Has always really convinced me that this truth of Mark 11, 23,

[00:05:19] Is a key scripture for an overcoming life.

[00:05:22] However, Hebrews chapter 3, verse 1 declares,

[00:05:25] Jesus is the high priest of our confession.

[00:05:29] What you confess here on earth,

[00:05:32] Jesus, our high priest, conveys that confession unto heaven.

[00:05:37] For the Bible says,

[00:05:38] Your words can minister health or sickness.

[00:05:41] Isaiah 58, 5.

[00:05:43] Your health shall spring forth speedily.

[00:05:47] So you should be saying it.

[00:05:48] My health shall spring forth speedily.

[00:05:52] Declare that with confidence.

[00:05:55] My health shall spring forth speedily.

[00:05:58] You see, it's by your words you overcome the devil.

[00:06:02] Revelation 12, 11.

[00:06:04] We overcome the devil by the blood of the Lamb,

[00:06:07] The word of our testimony.

[00:06:09] It's by your words you are justified or you're condemned.

[00:06:13] You can condemn yourself by your words.

[00:06:16] And when you're under condemnation,

[00:06:17] You're not a happy person.

[00:06:19] You don't possess confidence toward the Lord.

[00:06:22] However, you have the choice.

[00:06:25] God says,

[00:06:26] How can two walk together except three agree?

[00:06:29] You can agree with God and His word,

[00:06:31] Or else you can disagree with the Lord

[00:06:33] By those words out of harmony with His word.

[00:06:36] So you can extol the Lord by your words.

[00:06:39] Likewise, you can even extol Satan by your words.

[00:06:43] You understand James chapter 3

[00:06:46] Tells us how our tongue,

[00:06:49] Though it's a little member,

[00:06:51] It can defile your whole body.

[00:06:53] So let's listen again to Proverbs 6, 2.

[00:06:57] Thou art snared by the words of thy mouth.

[00:07:00] Thou art taken captive by the words of your mouth.

[00:07:03] Oh, my beloved friend, make it your prayer.

[00:07:06] Lord, set a watch over my mouth

[00:07:08] And keep the door of my tongue.

[00:07:10] I mean, almost every day,

[00:07:12] I make these my fervent prayers.

[00:07:16] Psalm 19, 14.

[00:07:18] I pray this with a great passion.

[00:07:20] Lord, let the words of my mouth

[00:07:22] And the meditation of my heart

[00:07:24] Be accessible in your sight.

[00:07:26] Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

[00:07:29] Though James tells us,

[00:07:30] You can kindle a big fire by one word.

[00:07:33] Now, you have been a good listener up to this point.

[00:07:36] But I want you to begin to speak what God says.

[00:07:40] Please, speak His word.

[00:07:42] Say, what I say is what I get.

[00:07:45] Say it.

[00:07:46] I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

[00:07:49] Say it.

[00:07:50] The Lord will restore health unto me.

[00:07:53] Speak it.

[00:07:53] I overcome the devil by the word of my testimony.

[00:07:57] Declare it.

[00:07:58] No plague shall come nigh my dwelling.

[00:08:00] With emphasis say,

[00:08:02] I shall not condemn myself by words.

[00:08:04] For I agree with God and disagree with the devil.

[00:08:08] And make it your purpose, beloved,

[00:08:10] To daily extol the Lord who loads your life with His benefits.

[00:08:14] And Psalm 141, 3.

[00:08:16] Here's a great prayer.

[00:08:18] Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth

[00:08:20] And keep the door of my lips.

[00:08:23] Yes, don't be snared by words of your mouth.

[00:08:26] But let your words of your mouth

[00:08:28] And the meditation of your heart

[00:08:29] Be acceptable in the Lord's sight.

[00:08:32] And thank God He will have His grace upon you.

[00:08:36] Now, as I'm sharing these wonderful truths of God's word,

[00:08:39] I want to emphasize again today

[00:08:42] How significant is what you say

[00:08:45] Relation to what you get.

[00:08:48] And I think again about these wonderful facts.

[00:08:53] You see, it's very hard

[00:08:54] And well nigh impossible for you to believe God is for you

[00:08:58] If you continue to talk about the things that are against you.

[00:09:02] The Bible says,

[00:09:04] Death and life are in the power of the tongue.

[00:09:07] Proverbs 18, 21

[00:09:09] And again, the Bible says,

[00:09:11] With the increase of your lips shall be filled.

[00:09:14] These are two powerful statements.

[00:09:16] So we see the tremendous power in the words we speak.

[00:09:20] Our tongues determine life or death,

[00:09:23] Healing or sickness,

[00:09:24] Victory or defeat.

[00:09:25] Our words fill us the same as our food we eat fills us.

[00:09:30] Now, you perhaps are sick because your words have been spoken so often.

[00:09:35] And consequently, you have been defeated.

[00:09:39] So you ask, well, what shall I say?

[00:09:41] What do I say?

[00:09:42] Say what God says.

[00:09:44] Declare His promises.

[00:09:45] Agree with the word.

[00:09:46] And let God's word be confirmed on your behalf.

[00:09:49] You know what a delight it is to have faith in God.

[00:09:52] And to see His manifest grace and power.

[00:09:55] When I share about the wonders of God all over the world,

[00:10:01] I can only say I wish I had the privilege of being raised in a Christian home when I was a young man.

[00:10:07] But since I was not,

[00:10:09] I am still very grateful that I became a Christian

[00:10:12] and I followed the life of Jesus Christ.

[00:10:16] Had I followed the natural course of events with all the gossets,

[00:10:20] the example of their lives,

[00:10:21] I would have lived in sin and served the devil.

[00:10:25] Because I witnessed the impurities of life in those same gossets.

[00:10:29] And I was, however, then I was exposed to the gospel.

[00:10:33] And I made Jesus Christ and His message priority.

[00:10:37] And it was such an attractive message to know I could be saved.

[00:10:41] And my friend, you can be saved.

[00:10:43] If you'll accept Him as your Savior and Lord.

[00:10:46] I'm very grateful that He called me to preach His gospel.

[00:10:49] And I'm glad that He's able me to devote most of my life to preaching His message everywhere.

[00:10:56] And beloved friend,

[00:10:57] if you have not received Christ as your Savior and Lord,

[00:11:00] I encourage you to do so.

[00:11:03] For He says,

[00:11:04] Him that cometh unto me,

[00:11:05] I will in no wise cast out.

[00:11:08] I trust you'll make this the day that you open your heart to Him.

[00:11:12] Lord, I pray for every unsaved person hearing my voice.

[00:11:16] That this is the day that they'll make peace with You.

[00:11:20] For Your peace passes all understanding.

[00:11:23] And I pray for those who are void of peace will know

[00:11:26] the only way to have peace is with You, Lord, getting right with You.

[00:11:30] So may this be a day of repentance.

[00:11:33] A day of forsaking sin.

[00:11:35] Lord, may this be a day of Your victory in Jesus' name.

[00:11:39] And Lord, I pray not only for the sin-sick in soul,

[00:11:42] but I pray for those who are sick in body.

[00:11:45] Lord, You said pray one for another that You may be healed.

[00:11:48] So I ask in Jesus' name for Your healing power

[00:11:51] to permeate and flow in bodies and lives in Jesus' name.

[00:11:55] Amen.

[00:11:57] Well, it's that time.

[00:11:59] This is a very precious time

[00:12:00] because it's such a wonderful experience

[00:12:02] to focus on Jesus

[00:12:05] and give Him the honor,

[00:12:07] the adoration that's due to Him.
