[00:00:00] Wherefore be not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is, and be not drunk with wine, where in His excess, but be filled with the Spirit.
[00:00:10] Speaking yourselves in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
[00:00:17] giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
[00:00:23] submitting ourselves one to another in the fear of God.
[00:00:27] So here we have a wonderful truth about the importance of singing and about the importance of being filled with the Spirit.
[00:00:35] I have discovered this is a wonderful truth, after putting it into practice.
[00:00:39] It said, singing unto the Lord, singing in Psalms hymns and spiritual songs.
[00:00:44] And many times in my own walk with the Lord, I have discovered the Spirit will prompt me just to take time to sing.
[00:00:52] And I begin to obey His command and I begin those songs, will minister to me and will bring a sense of great liberation and victory.
[00:01:02] So you can start out really dull and dry in your own self, but if you can sing yourself right into the victory,
[00:01:09] you can sing and make melody unto the Lord and it will bring the manifestation of the Holy Spirit.
[00:01:17] Enable us to speak in that heavenly language, that supernatural language.
[00:01:21] The Bible says, He the speaker of an unknown tongue, speaketh not of the man but under God.
[00:01:26] How be it in the spirit, He speaketh mysteries under God.
[00:01:30] And He says, the speaking in tongues whereby we're edified or built up.
[00:01:34] So this is the manifestation of the Spirit too.
[00:01:37] There's no reason to feel defeated.
[00:01:39] When you understand the Bible pattern for victory, you can sing and shout every day of your life.
[00:01:45] This part of the verse that says to sing and make melody in your heart to the Lord falls into a wonderful category of Christian living.
[00:01:54] Now most people understand that part.
[00:01:57] And I want to say that it's so important that you understand that God is not looking for workers.
[00:02:03] He's looking for worshipers.
[00:02:05] Listen to John 4.23.
[00:02:07] Jesus said, The hour cometh and now is, is when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth.
[00:02:16] And because the Spirit is whom the Father sins as we submit to Him.
[00:02:22] Now let me read that scripture again.
[00:02:24] John 4.23.
[00:02:25] But the hour cometh and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth.
[00:02:33] For the Father seeketh such to worship Him.
[00:02:36] So God is looking for worshipers, not just workers.
[00:02:39] If He can find somebody who will worship Him, that person will come into a place of freedom, victory and liberty.
[00:02:46] Because worship will bring Him into God's presence.
[00:02:50] In the presence of the Lord is fullness of joy.
[00:02:53] And when you are full of the joy of God, you'll have the strength to do whatever He says and what He wants you to do.
[00:03:00] Now a Christian is not even a fit worker until he learns how to worship God.
[00:03:05] I say a Christian is not even a fit worker until he learns how to worship God.
[00:03:10] And with then, also without worship, you are just limited because somewhere along the way fear will overtake you.
[00:03:18] You'll not be able to do what God wants you to do because you have not entered into His presence.
[00:03:23] You have not been the worshipper of God once.
[00:03:27] Now the Holy Spirit is here to make us worshipers.
[00:03:30] We have to somehow avail ourselves of His help by speaking in other tongues.
[00:03:36] Not just the occasion of the infilling, but every day to stir up the gift of God.
[00:03:42] And let Him minister through us and we can stay then filled with the Spirit.
[00:03:47] To hear from God minister to Him.
[00:03:50] The difference between believers today and many of them in days gone by
[00:03:55] is that believers today are willing to accept responsibility placed on them.
[00:04:00] Second Timothy 1-6, stir up the gift of God which is within you.
[00:04:05] I mean, in years gone by if people didn't understand events or lack of power in the Christian life
[00:04:11] they blame somebody else or even blame God.
[00:04:14] If they didn't understand anything, it was God's sovereign will.
[00:04:18] Today we're starting to accept responsibility.
[00:04:21] We're starting to judge ourselves so that victory can come to our lives.
[00:04:25] Thank God for this.
[00:04:27] So now is the time to judge ourselves in the area of worship.
[00:04:31] God is seeking worshippers.
[00:04:33] When we worship Him He speaks to us.
[00:04:35] When David understood this, we understand and have not always understand how it happened
[00:04:41] but in the tabernacle there are worshippers 24 hours a day.
[00:04:46] We may have not understood that God wants His people worshiping Him all the time.
[00:04:51] However, the church is worldwide so when some are asleep others are awake.
[00:04:57] Psalm 134, those worshippers on the night shift, those servants, the Lord would stand by night.
[00:05:03] They would get tired and sleepy and started slacking up on the job
[00:05:07] and they were told to start lifting up their hands.
[00:05:11] Well, there wasn't really praising God just going through the motions.
[00:05:15] Well that's what happens to us.
[00:05:17] If we somehow don't really consider that God wants a continual life of praise
[00:05:23] it doesn't mean we're going to praise Him 24 hours a day
[00:05:26] but we're a part of the worldwide church the Lord has
[00:05:30] where people in India are praising God another time
[00:05:34] and we here are praising Him.
[00:05:37] I mean, we're singing, we're speaking unto Him in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.
[00:05:43] We're praising the Lord in every way possible
[00:05:45] and the sooner we start praising God all day long
[00:05:48] no matter what's happening or where we are
[00:05:51] the more blessings are going to come into our lives.
[00:05:54] Let me repeat that friend.
[00:05:56] The sooner you start praising God throughout each day
[00:05:59] Hebrews 13.15 says,
[00:06:02] By Jesus therefore let's offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually.
[00:06:08] That's the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.
[00:06:11] Now I've discovered that when we really lift our voices with volume
[00:06:15] loud praise will just drive the devil insane.
[00:06:19] Well, that's just a proverbial statement.
[00:06:22] For loudness is related to authority.
[00:06:24] The devil will not pay attention to just a somehow little passive person.
[00:06:29] The only thing he understands is supernatural force
[00:06:33] and that's force is the Holy Spirit.
[00:06:35] You don't play games with the devil.
[00:06:37] There's a direct correlation between the loud cry
[00:06:40] and the voice of authority.
[00:06:42] A passive individual will be run over all his life.
[00:06:45] The Bible tells us that we are an army
[00:06:47] an army is not a passive group
[00:06:49] when we make up our minds to go ahead
[00:06:51] and possess the land that means we'll have to fight for it.
[00:06:56] And when you feel empty or barren
[00:06:58] or when you're in trouble
[00:06:59] learn to reach down on the inside of you
[00:07:01] and let the power of God come out.
[00:07:04] Jesus said in John 7.38
[00:07:06] He that believeth on me as the Scripture has said
[00:07:09] Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
[00:07:12] When the devil is attacking you or your family
[00:07:14] when you're dealing with the force of hell
[00:07:17] you need that power like a river
[00:07:19] not as a stream or a trickle of water
[00:07:21] but it says it'll be powerful water
[00:07:24] rivers of living water
[00:07:26] and then when you break forth into singing to God
[00:07:28] you'll break and overcome spiritual barrenness
[00:07:33] then growth will come
[00:07:35] enlargement will come
[00:07:36] for your life will be pleasing to God
[00:07:38] He'll manifest Himself
[00:07:40] So start breaking forth and singing on a regular basis
[00:07:43] and you'll have to enlarge the place you are
[00:07:47] in your walk with God
[00:07:48] and when your captivity gets turned
[00:07:51] when the time is redeemed
[00:07:52] and you start singing to the Lord
[00:07:55] now I've discovered a long time ago
[00:07:57] a church that really doesn't sing
[00:07:59] with a real authority
[00:08:00] with a real delight
[00:08:01] doesn't really worship God
[00:08:03] for God wants us to praise Him
[00:08:07] and do singing to Him with all things
[00:08:09] as well as giving Him thanks
[00:08:10] So I say sing not just in good times
[00:08:13] or when you're happy
[00:08:14] but sing in the bad times
[00:08:16] and miss the persecution and opposition
[00:08:18] the same pattern will bring victory
[00:08:21] and the working of God by His grace
[00:08:24] So this is my challenge to you
[00:08:26] You say what should I do
[00:08:28] Well remember Paul and Salis in Acts 16
[00:08:31] they were there for preaching the gospel
[00:08:34] and the Bible says at midnight
[00:08:36] they begin to sing and praise God
[00:08:38] and thank God the Lord manifest Himself
[00:08:41] and so God wants us to know
[00:08:44] that there's something about
[00:08:45] volume with praise is important
[00:08:47] Now there are of course
[00:08:49] those times when we quietly praise God
[00:08:51] but there's a good possibility
[00:08:53] that you may be like Paul and Salis
[00:08:56] a lot of opposition, a lot of persecution
[00:08:59] but that's the time to sing praise as a God
[00:09:02] Now I know that many of us
[00:09:05] can't always see the goodness situation
[00:09:07] that seems bad in the natural
[00:09:09] but Paul did
[00:09:10] he took the opportunity of being in prison
[00:09:13] in later years to write most of the epistles
[00:09:15] and where would the body of Christ
[00:09:18] have been through the centuries without Paul's letters
[00:09:21] most people can't see the positive side
[00:09:23] of bad situations
[00:09:25] they can't see how God can take the situation
[00:09:27] and bless it and turn it around
[00:09:28] and whom the Son has set free is free indeed
[00:09:33] don't let anything keep you from praising God
[00:09:37] and it doesn't matter what comes
[00:09:39] we are free in the Lord
[00:09:40] so I say again an evidence
[00:09:43] of the true spirit for your life
[00:09:44] is you're singing giving thanks unto God
[00:09:47] and all things that's what Ephesians 5
[00:09:50] 18 through 20 says
[00:09:51] and thank God when you are in a bad situation
[00:09:55] just lift your heart and voice
[00:09:56] and give God praise and thank Him
[00:09:59] Now many wives
[00:10:00] want to submit to their husbands
[00:10:02] as the Lord tells us here in Ephesians 5 or 22
[00:10:05] but just don't know how
[00:10:06] many members of churches
[00:10:09] can't submit to their pastor
[00:10:10] and I'll tell you why they don't
[00:10:13] they are not ministering to the Lord
[00:10:15] they don't speak themselves in songs
[00:10:17] they don't give thanks and all things
[00:10:19] therefore they are in rebellious
[00:10:21] and self-centered attitude
[00:10:24] so God wants us to practice
[00:10:26] these instructions in Ephesians 5
[00:10:28] be not drunk with wine
[00:10:30] we're in excess
[00:10:31] but be filled with the Spirit
[00:10:33] speaking yourselves in Psalms and hymns
[00:10:35] and spiritual songs
[00:10:37] singing, making melody
[00:10:38] in your heart to the Lord
[00:10:39] so your spirit gets built up
[00:10:42] by speaking in tongues
[00:10:43] so he that speak in unknown tongues
[00:10:46] edifies himself
[00:10:47] or builds himself up
[00:10:49] and now your mind doesn't get anything out of it
[00:10:51] for the mind to get built up spiritually
[00:10:53] you need the interpretation
[00:10:54] of what has been said in tongues
[00:10:57] and the way to begin operating interpretation
[00:10:59] is to pray in tongues
[00:11:02] until you sense
[00:11:03] a satisfaction in the Spirit
[00:11:05] then stop
[00:11:06] and begin listening to the words in English
[00:11:09] start speaking out those words
[00:11:12] so if someone don't sound right
[00:11:14] well just keep going
[00:11:15] because it's an unknown tongue to you
[00:11:18] but it's known to God
[00:11:19] and that's the great delight
[00:11:21] of being a spirit filled Christian
[00:11:23] so I want to urge you
[00:11:24] to stay continually filled with the Spirit
[00:11:26] enter into praise and worship
[00:11:28] and begin with that
[00:11:30] and then press onward
[00:11:31] this is God's will for you
[00:11:33] that's what he said be not wise
[00:11:36] but understanding what the will of the Lord is
[00:11:38] and I want to pray for you
[00:11:40] the desire, the mighty baptism
[00:11:42] of the Holy Spirit Father
[00:11:43] I pray for every person
[00:11:45] who is desirous of being filled
[00:11:47] with your Holy Spirit
[00:11:48] with the initial physical evidence
[00:11:51] of speaking in other tongues
[00:11:52] as you give them utterance
[00:11:53] I pray they'll drop any prejudice
[00:11:55] or bias or improper
[00:11:59] appropriation of this
[00:12:00] and receive this mighty
[00:12:02] indomitable power
[00:12:03] Lord to be witnesses for you
[00:12:05] to be endued for being
[00:12:08] effective, effective for you Lord
[00:12:10] in Jesus name amen
[00:12:12] well I think
[00:12:14] it'd be appropriate right now
[00:12:16] for you and me to praise the Lord
[00:12:18] let's say praise you Lord
[00:12:20] and say it five times
[00:12:21] praise you Lord
[00:12:24] praise you Lord
[00:12:25] praise you Lord
[00:12:28] praise you Lord
[00:12:29] praise you Lord
[00:12:31] hallelujah
