Overcoming financial difficulties and poverty through faith, tithing, and honoring God. Don Gossett emphasizes that poverty is not God's Will, and instead it is a curse that can be broken by following biblical principles. This message includes references to personal testimonies and scriptures that encourage believers to trust in God's Provision, and to live a lifestyle of being a cheerful generous giver.
[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I want to share with you today how to break the bonds of failure financially. Now, there is, I'm very persuaded, a spirit of poverty that seeks to captivate your life.
[00:00:13] [SPEAKER_00]: But I want to give you the steps I believe, how to overcome poverty in entering the Gods abundance.
[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_00]: You see, be persuaded that poverty is not God's will for your life.
[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, God has wonderful assurance of victory and I praise the Lord for that.
[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm an avid friend of Pat Robertson, the 700 Club.
[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: It's been my delight to be on that program to be interviewed by Pat and Ben Kinsolo and others.
[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe more than a half a dozen times I'm not sure.
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_00]: But I love Pat's book. Here's best seller Cole, shout it from the house tops.
[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_00]: In this book, Pat tells about his time in the early years of the Christian Broadcast Network
[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: when there was a threat of bankruptcy and financial total failure.
[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: It was revealed however by the Holy Spirit as they prayed and passed it,
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_00]: that they run to the grip of the Spirit of poverty.
[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_00]: They rose up to overthrow this Spirit of poverty, by prayer, by praise, and by affirmation of the Word of God.
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And God gave them a tremendous victory.
[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I know the Spirit of poverty is a satanic spirit.
[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_00]: It seeks to vex you and find you and keep you into as it were financial slavery.
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_00]: So you must be bold and fearless. You must rise up with a resolute attitude that I shall overcome
[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_00]: this abject spirit of poverty that ran into my life to slavery.
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I am money problems and in bexation. And further you must be a holy
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_00]: indignation man or woman against poverty and you'll perceive the origin is not from God but
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: from the wicked devil. So this is what I want to give you as a basis of this message that you
[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_00]: can have God's Word that he wants you. Now let's listen to 3rd John 2. My beloved child,
[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_00]: I wish you have all things that you may prosper and be in health even just so
[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_00]: prosperous. So as you believe this truth and speak it, I believe you'll learn to overcome and rise up
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_00]: of the poverty as your lifestyle. I know there's two words that so often have characterized our lives
[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_00]: in sufficiency and in adequacy but if you purpose in your heart at those words and longer be a
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_00]: part of your folk faith with vocabulary, you'll be able to say it. God hates poverty. I hate poverty.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Would you that right now say God hates poverty? I hate poverty. Why because Jesus came to give
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: you life in that more abundantly? This abundant life has Christ overflows in the physical
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and material abundance. Thank God in Jesus abundance is yours. The good news Jesus announced
[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_00]: in Philippians 490 or in Luke's department chapter 4 verse 1819, he included liberation from poverty.
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: So you don't have to speak like always as you're way of living, you can speak God's provision.
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_00]: You see God is not a poverty-stricken God and he doesn't produce poverty-stricken children.
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_00]: A Bible abounds the promise that the Lord Himself will open the windows of heaven. He'll
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_00]: satisfy, share down rain, pouring and provide replenish and prosper you for you say it again
[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_00]: God hates poverty. So what don't you affirm that God hates poverty and I hate poverty?
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Well I hate poverty with intense attitude for sure to hate poverty and the Bible reveals Satan
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_00]: is a devour that thief, that destroyer. He seeks to consume your resources to deplete your
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_00]: money, so you exhaust your financial ability. But the Bible says in James 4-7 we're not ignorant
[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_00]: of the devil's devices and we boldly resist the devil and he has to play for us. So say it again.
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I hate poverty. God promises that when you honor him with your substance by giving him the first
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_00]: fruit to your increase, your reward should be plenty. Plenty means sufficient income. That is
[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_00]: enough money satisfaction and I'm persuaded when you pay your ties the first time of each dollar,
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_00]: the first dollar of each tin and you give offerings above the tithe, you'll discover God responding
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_00]: to you for this is his word to you. He promises they give you an overcoming grace that you
[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_00]: have to live a hand-to-mouth existence but God will prosper you and his wonderful truth. Now
[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_00]: the Bible says that poverty is a curse, that just what Melikaith 3-10 says, God will break the curse
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_00]: over your life. So poverty however it produces such embarrassment. I share with you about my friend
[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: him down Alabama, a man who is a house painter who I call me some months ago to tell me about
[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_00]: his dilemma about the death of his mother and his father about the divorce from his wife
[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_00]: and how his daughter come to announce she was a lesbian. Oh my what a time it was for poor my friend
[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_00]: him and he suddenly felt so lonely in despondency. He called me and he said, Don Lorde's use
[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_00]: to minister to my life. I received your teaching on tithing something I've never done. He said,
[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I went to intervene to a tithing cabinet so tith Tim began to tithe and he shares me frequently
[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_00]: how God has granted miracle after miracle. Yes thank God his house painting business has
[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_00]: blurry. Every time he tells me about the latest media achievements how God's blessing and for
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_00]: him joy has begun to return to his heart and then a more recent phone call Tim shared the
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_00]: provision of how God had blessed him and he urged me, Oh Don tell everybody how God honors tithing
[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_00]: and he said, for these many months I have entered into the tithing cabinet. I've just gathered
[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_00]: tithing has brought provision. Has enabled me to overcome despondency and so many other benefits.
[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_00]: He said, Don encourage people to take God's word and tithe. Well I believe
[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_00]: God wants to bless you. He wants you to be a free of the life of being under a curse of poverty
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_00]: for I say poverty produces embarrassment. What distressing difficult days are experience
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: when you are in poverty but thank God no longer. Begin to speak God's word. Begin to give your
[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_00]: to his supply of all you need and give let him give you his abundance. Now you don't buy any
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_00]: blessing to God, nobody can do that but when you have the joy in your heart to give to him,
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_00]: God will bless and minister to you abundantly. He will provide adequately for your family too
[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_00]: and you then can be in command of money into the money commanding you. So give cheerfully,
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_00]: liberally, boundlessly unto the Lord and he'll give back to you good measure, press down,
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: shaking together running over. I say prosperity is a blessing. Poverty is a curse.
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Say that with me, prosperity is a blessing. Poverty is a curse. Surrise up and say, good by poverty.
[00:07:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Say thank God for your abundance, Lord. I give you a praise and thanks. And the scripture
[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Proverbs 3, 9 and 10 honored the Lord with your substance. It was the first fruits of all your
[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_00]: increase. So show your burning be a pillow plenty. Now even as you honor the Lord by singing him
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_00]: first according to Matthew 633, as you give the Christ the permanence in your life and all things,
[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_00]: you can be assured that God will respond to you, honor him by praising him, worship
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and give him your testimony. Honor him with the fact that you have the substance,
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_00]: even financial increase. As the wise men came from the east and honored the holy child Jesus
[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_00]: with their gifts of gold, frankincense and mure. So as a wise Christian, honor Jesus, each gift
[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: you give unto the spreading of the gospel. But when you give, you're not honoring the pastor,
[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_00]: you're not honoring the church, not honoring the evangelist, not honoring the missionary. You're
[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_00]: not honoring this cause that cause the Bible makes it clear, you honor the Lord by your giving.
[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's good to be a have a sense of honor for those people who I've mentioned,
[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_00]: but you're giving actually honors the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Hallelujah. All what is
[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_00]: privileged, honor the Lord. Think of it. It removes the sense of rigid duty out of your giving.
[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_00]: It injects role dignity and tribute to your king. The Bible says in the people rejoice for they
[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_00]: offered willingly because of the perfect heart, the offered willingly to the Lord,
[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: and David the King also rejoice with him. That's in first Chronicles 299. No wonder the people
[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_00]: rejoice in the giving, for they were honoring the Lord. And you two can rejoice as you honor
[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: the Lord Himself. For thank God, here's his word that has been glad rejoice and give honor unto him.
[00:10:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Even when you give each dollar unto the advancing of the gospel, for the money you spend on
[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_00]: yourself or for things this world perishes with a using. But the money you give unto the Lord is
[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_00]: treasurely, ribbon heaven. And you'll never regret having given it to him, no, not next year,
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_00]: not a thousand years from now because every time you give, you know you're honoring the Lord. You're
[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_00]: not trying to honor man or church or organization. You're honoring the Lord Himself, our blessed Lord.
[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And God says in first Samuel 230, the umbil honor me, I will honor. That's his truth today. Those
[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_00]: honor me, I will honor. So expect that to be your portioned life. Prosperity is a blessing.
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Poverty is a curse. So live the gift. For life is a given not to take and you can expect God's
[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_00]: grace and blessing to be yours. The God is delighted by your giving is clearly revealed in the face
[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_00]: of ministry scriptures. For when you give your money, you're giving a part of your life. For
[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_00]: your life has been invested to earn the money you have. And when you give, you're not somehow
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_00]: trying to buy anything from God. You're simply responding to His word. You're incorporating
[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_00]: with your Creator. You're simply returning back to Him a portion of what He has blessed you with
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and your whole life. Your money, your provisions, anything, everything is all because of God's
[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_00]: wonderful working. Now I've known many Christians who have assured a testimony just like my friend
[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_00]: team down Alabama that have given to the Lord. God is given to them, even abundantly,
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_00]: but all they ask are thank. So thank God you can have the same testimony. The provision of God,
[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_00]: your testimony will be one of how God has ministry to you. So expect that. Heavenly Father,
[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I do agree with everyone of my brothers and sisters, your family. Lord, those who are in financial
[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_00]: dilemma today, Lord, my heart goes out to them, Lord. For understand the challenge of being
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_00]: used by you, Lord, to provide for needs. I pray in Jesus' name, you'll break the strong holes
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_00]: that devil in Jesus' name, amen. Join me as we say, joyful praise the Lord, five times, praise the
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Lord, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord,
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Hallelujah
