Once upon a time, a young man named Christian decided to leave his comfy home, family, and life and embark on a journey to the celestial city, because he knew God was drawing him to separate himself from the world, to follow after His kingdom. On his way, he met evangelist who pointed him in the right direction, giving Christian instructions and warnings to help him. Christian soon found himself in the slough of despond, which is basically a muddy pit of despair, like stepping into quicksand, unable to free yourself without God's Help. Then came Help, who was like that friend who always shows up just when you need a hand, pulling Christian out of the pit of muck and reminding him to be always careful to stay on the narrow path before him. Next, Christian faced the hill of difficulty, which was like a mountain that going up it made him question his life choices like climbing a steep staircase with the weight of his sin on his back. He met a few strange characters along the way, like Mr. Worldly Wiseman, who tried to sell him a shortcut that was really just a trap, attempting to destroy him. After dodging a few more life threatening distractions, Christian finally reached The Celestial City (Heaven), where the gates opened to him, because he faithfully maintained his faith in God, through Christian's obedience. In the end, Christian learned that the journey was filled with ups and downs, but the real victory was knowing he had a heavenly destination, which required him to be faithful, holy, and obedient to God's Commands. Be like Christian, and faithfully complete the journey God has before you in your life.
